  • Just WOW

by Kenny on 2025-03-19Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing experience, all I can say is wow! The live music just took the movie to a whole new level of appreciation and awe. Hearing the live orchestra alongside such a spectacular film was amazing, and I’m certainly hooked and will be looking for other shows like this with such iconic films and their scores. Thanks again!

  • Great evening

by Shelley on 2025-03-19Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I took my granddaughter (9 yrs old) to see this show, knowing very little about it in advance. It was a fun evening! We loved the movie and the orchestra really enhanced the experience. The crowd was very enthusiastic cheering and booing at all the appropriate spots. Highly recommend!

  • Great experience, but wish the audio mixing was better

by Se on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Honestly, I really enjoyed the show, but multiple times throughout I kept thinking the sound quality would be much nicer watching at home with a good quality sound system and the sound mixing of the original soundtrack. I think the experience would have been so much better if it was performed acoustically... Or at least, I would have been able to better seperate and appreciate the experiences of watching the original in a theatre versus with a live Orchestra. I wish the music part could be elevated more as the main attraction rather than the movie itself. They did a pretty good job of mixing in the film dialog, Its just the quality that I wish was better... maybe I'm being nitpicky, but still. Anyways, regardless of all that, I'm glad I went and got to see it. The musicians did a great job!

  • I cried my eyes out

by Astra on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was so so so good that I was ugly sobbing by the end. I’d go again a million times. I hope they do one for HTTYD 2.

  • A Wonderful Way to Watch Httyd

by Snow GG on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I personally always enjoyed the first Httyd movie. But seeing it with a live orchestra and huge crowd is truly something else. It was a wonderful and fantastic way to enjoy this movie again in such a beautiful setting. The feeling and the charm of Httyd is captured and enhanced with the live orchestra playing the soundtrack. Cheering during parts of the film was extremely fun and I felt such a happy feeling throughout the concert. I really loved it and I highly recommend it if you love the first Httyd movie like I do. PS: Heard about the live action? Skip and avoid it and consider going to Httyd in concert instead if it is in your area, you’ll be a lot happier and nothing will ever beat the original.

  • Genuinely best experience of my life

by Lucy on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I had the most amazing time. The orchestra was so incredible and I couldn't believe how spot on they were the entire time. It was such an emotional experience hearing such amazing music matched perfectly with the movie. The entire crowd you could tell was so deeply drawn in to the music the whole time and it was insane to be able to be a part of that.

  • Amazing

by Ivan on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing experience. The orchestra sounds majestic, has all the timings right and allows to get consumed by the whole experience. Very wholesome and fun.

Amazing performance from the orchestra, excellent energy from the crowd and the venue was ideal for the event. Would highly recommend!

  • Fun

by Jan on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

My friends and I got bad seats by accident so our necks were a little sore from looking up at the screen, but the orchestra was sooo impressive and deserved those 2 rounds of applause (there should’ve been at least 2 more rounds). Overall, super fun.

  • HTTYD score u will always be famous

by Vee on 2025-03-18Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was such a lovely experience. I adore this film and the score can really make or break it. I could talk about the movie writing, animating, etc but since the focus was the live orchestra I’ll talk about that instead. WHAT A BRILLIANT WAY TO BRING THIS STORY TO LIFE. What an incredibly talented and passionate group of people in this orchestra. I cried. I was shaking from excitement. And I’ve listened to this score so often to the DETAIL and man did they DELIVER. I think the only thing was missing bagpipes in like one scene but really what does that matter. It was so beautiful I got chills multiple times. Live music you will always be famous. And it was an experience! The conductor said to REACT and the audience DID. When Hiccup and Toothless finally flew together at the climax of Test Drive and everyone cheered! I’ll be thinking of that forever. What a great group of NERDS enjoying this film. I really felt like I was with my people. And the movie had SUBTITLES! It was such a pleasant surprise which is great for me (I can’t hear without my subtitles!) Overall 100000000000000000/10 if I could give it. I would definitely go again.
