About

What is Vancouver Sevens?

Three days of world-class rugby, paired with the best costume party you've ever seen! This weekend is forecast for rugby with a high chance of a party. After years of success in Vancouver, this has become an iconic tradition, and this is surely Your Year. Still not convinced? Here are Seven reasons why you should be coming to Vancouver Sevens:

1. It's the best party in town, with an electric atmosphere that you have to experience for yourself!

2. The best teams in the world all under one roof at BC Place. Will returning champions like Argentina and New Zealand top the podium, or will we see an underdog take the number one spot?

3. Canada's own women's Olympic rugby silver medallists on home soil. Cheer on our Olympic medal-winning squad right here in Vancouver!

4. The globally renowned costume party. The fancy dress tradition turns a weekend in February into Halloween like you've never seen it before.

5. Three full days of world class sport in your backyard. The three-day pass gives you access to the entire tournament, so you can follow your favourite teams from first kick-off on Friday all the way through to Sunday's grand finale. Sports!

6. This is the longest running annual sports event of this size and scale in Vancouver. Come see what the fuss is all about!

7. There's something for everyone. Want to introduce your little ones to rugby? Stay tuned for more on opportunities for them to get on the pitch at BC Place!

  • Fun times at the Rugby 7's Vancouver

    by Trish83 on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

What a fun event. Hope it comes back next year. Would love to go again. I would recommend some changes if the event comes back. Doors to the stadium should open at least 45mins before the first game/even 1hour prior -30mins was not enough time for that many people to go thru security/get in before the first game and get their seats -especially if they had GA seats. Beer stands did not open until 1pm -should have been 12pm as this caused long wait times at the food stands when they opened at 11am -people were waiting for both food/beer for an hour. At 5pm we had to wait for food at one food stand -as they had run out and had to go to the kitchen to get more. but all in all, a great event -hosting staff were great, nice to see the security/vpd present just in case.

For the last 5 years we have gone down to Vegas to watch the super 7’s and it has been a great time for us . Vancouver sponsors have put on an absolutely amazing event and I’m looking forward to spending my money here for the next 5 years.

  • Great event

The rugby was great, good venue however getting into the event was a nightmare. No staff outside to organize the line ups, no rhyme or reason for line ups resulting in long delays. Games started at 9:30 am so doors should have been opened earlier than 9:00am due to large number of ticket holders and the need for bag searches. We missed the first part of the matches as a result. BC Place should get a handle on this before next years event. Also we had general admission only to find a large section had handmade reserved signs for a charity event(section 218) which seemed unfair.
