    Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb!

    by D. L. on 2019-06-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Wow, fantastic evening. Hugh is the all round showman! .Singing, dancing and storytelling was amazing. Originally decided not to attend show as it was in an Arena and atmosphere was not intimate enough. Last minute, decided to get tickets and Hugh did not disappoint... he was able to make one feel he was singing to you and we forgot about the other 15,000 people! Best evening ever!

    Amazing!

    by Violet_Light85 on 2019-06-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hugh Jackman is one of the most amazing entertainers on the planet. He is so talented but backs this up with being humble, kind, and funny. He brought diversity to his show by having indigenous people of Australia be a part of his show and you can tell they have such a respect for him and he has a great respect and love for them. He also had the Toronto Out choir as part of his show as well and talked about what being an Ally means. It was just a great show he sang everything I wanted him to plus more. Amazing show! 5 stars!

    Great performance

by Peewee on 2019-06-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hugh put on a great show. It felt like a Vegas act, as he danced, including tap, sang, talked and was very engaging. He had an orchestra, as well as dancers to accompany him. He was funny, and really kept the show moving well. And very easy on the eyes.....

    GREATEST Show!!

    by D on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hands down, the best show I've seen. His stage presence, singing, dancing and banter with the audience made the concert amazing. It was a perfect set of songs performed with an awesome backdrop behind him. Dancers and other singers, including the orchestra and choir, were phenomenal. I HIGHLY recommend Hugh Jackman's live concert to everyone.

    A Man Worth Listening To

by Hugh Jackman Fan Who Has Never seen a Wolverine Movie on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Having seen Mr. Jackmans last live performance in Toronto at the Royal Alexandra, I was then, and again this time, enthralled with his ability to 'connect' with his audience. His talent is without question, but his diversity and interest in subtly addressing the issues of our times goes beyond expectations. His humbleness in crediting others, including his family, Australia, Colm Wilkinson, and Peter Allen, all go to credit this super star, and left my wife and I pondering where we could again see this show before the tour comes to an end. We find him to be the ultimate entertainer/performer!

    Hugh Jackman Concert

by Johnny Megabyte on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hugh Jackman. Singing, dancing, storytelling. Quite the outstanding visual performance. Great stories and stage banter, especially since Hugh Jackman has a connection with Toronto as filming of original X-men was in Toronto. Beside songs Hugh has recorded and performed himself, he paid homage to others in the singing and dancing genre.

    What a Man!

by Renay on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I saw Hugh Jackman several years ago when he was at the Princess of Wales Theatre. I remember people asking me why I would see this action-figure actor. I told these people that Hugh Jackman has a Broadway background, too. Anyway, the show at PofW was fantastic! When I heard that Hugh Jackman was going on the road again, I knew that I had to see this talented actor/performer. So I bought my ticket back in December 2018 and anxiously awaited to see the concert. Seeing Hugh Jackman at the Scotiabank Arena, on June 25, 2019, was above and beyond anything and everything that I expected. This 50 year old man sings, dances and plays instruments. He relates well with the audience. And I have to say that he is also unbelievably handsome. I enjoyed the segment when Hugh was playing Peter Allen from The Boy from Oz. He started talking to this older woman in the audience with a sparkly cane that matched his costume. When Hugh was dancing and gyrating as he crouched down, the screen purposely showed his nice tush. Hugh sang songs from the golden years of musical movies. He sang my favourite songs: Luck Be a Lady, Singin' in the Rain and I've Got Rhythm. I am an old soul and I love the classical musicals. When Hugh did a number from Singin' in the Rain, I was overjoyed because that is one of my all-time favourite musicals. When I was younger I took dance lessons and tap was one of them. I still like to see tappers on stage. And there was Hugh tapping to Earth, Wind and Fire's song September. Hugh was very genuine and personable about his life and career. I was extremely touched when Hugh talked about his wife and children. He proudly stated he has been married 23 years and I noticed that he wore his wedding band. Hugh sang All the Way, which was his wedding song and my heart melted. Lastly, Hugh Jackman is a mensch. He believes that we are all allies and that we need to be kind to one another. He is a humanitarian. Also, as most performers do, he thanked all of us for coming to his show and said how much he likes Toronto. Hugh, however, added that he appreciated not only our support to come to his show, but all the other expenses that come with an an evening out. What a man. What an amazing show.

    It all about HIM

by sabrelady on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

So Hugh Jackman fans- u r all in for a treat. Your boy is in top form and delivers. He starts out w a big ole tribute the "The Greatest Show" w a fantastic troop of dancers all in very modern dance outfits.. There is lots of chit chat ( very reminiscent of Back on Broadway) about his wife which leads into "All the Way" w lots of photos of him an Deb esp from their wedding on the screens . Very sweet. Lots of shoutouts to TO about the Raptors winning the NBA and how TO was really the start of his career because of X-Men. His story about learning to audition for a musical and getting it -with shots of him playing Gaston and of course segueing into "Gaston". Great staging and dancing. I liked the "You Will Be Found" number very much He had our local LBGTQ-A choir Singing Out and along with his ensemble, they did a lovely job.THEN he went and gave an explanation about the A standing for Allied which he cheerfully aligned himself with as an ally. Um OK.. Soliloquy was also well done he got all the right elements and notes. Still something was bothering me and I realized I've seen him sing it as well but the song also needs to be acted and I've seen him act it( Back to Broadway) and frankly it felt like he was holding back. When he sings "No fat-bottomed, flabby-faced, Pot-bellied, baggy-eyed bully Will boss him around." you need to feel that that is what has happened to Billy. But he hit the money note at the end perfectly. Glass half full. Les Mis film section before he goes into " What Have I Done soliloquy " did work well . Jenna Lee James was great in this as well as" This Is Me" earlier Thank G*D for the screens- otherwise she kept getting lost in all the choreography with TIM. I don't have the name of the brunette who sang the other part in " I Dreamed a Dream/One Day More-reprise" she was also excellent. He did mention her by name but I can't remember. Hey they even did the waving flags at the end of the number. He was very gracious to all his ensemble, giving them individual call outs for bows as well as all his musical accompaniment . Intermission was 20 mins ( we started 15 mins late and were done by 9:50 closer to 90 mins IMO) Straight ( sic) into the Peter Allen section- really laid it on with the camp Next he'll pitch a tent ( OK I'll stop!) Totes new costumes different from BTB and lots of great dancing . ( songs were a medley of Arthur's Theme/Don't Cry Out Loud/ I Honestly Love You/ Quiet please... The audience participation bit with a nice older lady w a bedazzled cane was fun but went on a bit long (and security was right there in the big screen glowering. I guess they were afraid of ???) Went right into I Go to Rio. and a great quick change and into the dance number. The man can work it.! He leaves briefly and come back out sans glitz no longer the hyper Peter Allen to sing "Tenterfield Saddler". OK full disclosure- I love this song- loved it when Allen did it , loved it in the original Aus Cast recording ( it was cut from the Bway production) and loved it when Jackman sang it in BTB sitting on the steps of the stage at the Princess of Wales theatre 10 feet from me so- I'm biased. I still love the song but I did miss the intimacy . No other comment required. More chat about his big bro making fun of him for wanting to take dance lessons as a kid (sissy!) only to have him apologise 10 yrs later as Hugh takes his first tap lesson . AND then we are into the Movie Musical tribute He and the ensemble really get a work out here Luck Be A Lady, Singing In the Rain,Stepping out w My Baby and Sing Sing Sing. Choreography is great . It's all very fast . I liked the lite up umbrellas they used for SinR nice bit of contrast. It gets bit blurry here as he does that great tap dance/ drum number 42nd Street / Thunderstruck / September / Takin' Care of Business / Jump. Unless you are very close to the stage ( I was row 30) follow it on the screens.I really have to give a shout to whoever designed the projections they worked wonderfully in the huge cave that is the Scotiabank Arena filling up all that space, esp in the Nomad/Two Worlds portion and creating the cathedral in the Les Mis section. There is that great spiritual bit the Nomads Two Worlds /Over the Rainbow- like I said here is where the projections shine and are an improvement of BTB the Outback dwarfed a theatre but shone in the arena setting. The choir is used well too here. This is identical to BTB but really can't be improved on nicely integrates a tribute to his homeland. He had the crowd on their feet for "From Now On" w Jenna Lee . Leaving out the weird improve bit w the orchestra- Mack the Knife was great incredible they have that much energy at that point in the show, and he still had his voice. Final number was Once Before I Go. In the end the Show really is HIM -some glitz, some technique, some shmaltz ( some packaging but all incredibly well done. Ready for The Music Man

    Amazing!

    by Jo2412 on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I bought these tickets as a Christmas gift for my daughter as she is a huge Hugh Jackman fan ( her nickname is Wolverine). I was a little worried after seeing the playlist. She can recite The Greatest Showman line for line, but she has little knowledge of the “showtunes”. I was worried for nothing! This was the most entertaining show either of us has ever seen! We were sad when it was over and very disappointed there was no encore. We will definitely be seeing Hugh Jackman if he ever returns.

    Memorable

by Diana W on 2019-06-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hugh Jackman provided moments of reflection and pondering of both personal emotional times in his own life and of global issues in general, i.e., Indigenous people’s rights, environment. Therefore, In addition to his great showmanship and ability to connect with his audience, he left his audience with many images and moments on which to think back.
