Ever since their 2011 debut, Danish punk band Iceage has been hailed by critics as the saviors of punk rock. What may at first glance seem like a bit of critical hyperbole becomes immutable fact at the band's electrifying live shows, where their unbridled energy whips fans into a frenzy reminiscent of -- and perhaps more intense than -- punk's riotous heyday. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Danish punk outfit Iceage was formed in 2008 by a group of Copenhagen teenagers. They quickly established themselves in the city's DIY scene, and in 2011 their debut album New Brigade was picked up for distribution by venerable New York indie label What's Your Rupture? The album quickly became a critical sensation, earning Best New Music from Pitchfork and resulting in the band's first US tour. Their 2013 sophomore album You're Nothing fared similarly, landing on numerous year-end lists and further cementing the band's reputation as saviors of punk music. A high-octane live act known for their moshpit-heavy shows and flippant attitudes, Iceage continue to impress on tour in support of their third album, 2014's moody Plowing Into the Field of Love.
