About

Founded in 2004 via the evil genius that is Simon Cowell, Il Divo is a supremely talented British-based international pop opera foursome comprised of French pop singer Sébastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marín, American tenor David Miller, and Swiss tenor Urs Bühler. Cowell had a desire to bring classical and opera to a commercial audience and spent two years searching for and developing talent for a project that has enjoyed unparalleled international success.

To this day, Il Divo continues to be the largest selling act in their genre, with over two million concert tickets sold. In 2006, Il Divo opened for Barbra Streisand on her 20 date North American tour, which generated a phenomenal $92.5 million in gross ticket sales.
Predominantly known as a crowd-pleasing live act, Il Divo has released nine albums, selling more than 26 million units across the globe.  They also have the honor of having the only crossover classical album, Ancora, to ever to enter the US Billboard Top 200 at No 1.

I wasn't expecting the new format of songs. ie: Mowtown

by Bobbybear on 2023-03-11OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Stage set and orchestra were excellent. Lighting was poor. The singers were excellent along with the addition of Steven. My personal experience wasn't the best. Others in attendance were disrespectful of others. Two elderly couples, two rows ahead of me, left the performance just after half way through the show.

    Intoxicating Il Divo

by Garey on 2023-03-06National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

As an avid fan of Il Divo, this show did not disappoint. It was very strange and sad to not have Carlos Marin present with the other members of the vocal ensemble. These entertainers are absolutely the best in their field. Their music takes your breath away; their voices so powerful you are in awe. The show is without a doubt worth the cost of the tickets and more. Anyone having the opportunity to see Il Divo perform live, should do so. The members were more light hearted than in the past and provided their audience with a little insight into their personal lives. They were humorous, yet very professional as well. Kudos to these gentlemen for carrying on through the heartbreak and loss of their dear friend Carlos.

Il Divo at Southam Hall Ottawa

by Lenord on 2023-03-06National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I was really looking forward to hearing Il Divo live for the first time. My seat was quite close to the stage and in front of the sound system. Maybe this position influenced my experience. From the first minute, the sound seemed too loud to me, the lows were like at a rock concert, the voices were also amplified to the point that sometimes you can’t make out what they are singing, it hurts your ears and in some places there is no unison. There was also some audio distortion. The concert was short, the singers talked too much. Several times the stage light blinded me. Overall my experience did not live up to my expectations even by 50%.

    Night out

by Sue on 2023-03-03National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

The show was good except for the stage was dark and we were too far away. I have to comment on the staff. They were so accommodating to my mom, who is a senior and has a hard time walking. That night the elevators weren't working so mom walked alot. Next time I'll have to purchase tickets closer.

    Awesome!

by Ping Chiu on 2023-03-02OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

First of all, your online ad just featured 3 singers and not Steve, the replacement for Carlos which I thought wasn't too great.. There should be all 4 of them! The whole show was awesome overall and the group sang quite a few of my favorite songs . I was surprised to see the entire balcony of the theatre blocked off though. Was it because the seats didn't sell as well as expected so only the floor area was sold? Our seats were comfortable but we were on the upper right of the theatre and my boyfriend found it inconvenient to have to walk the distance to the washrooms . Anyway, thanks for the show.. How about a Michael Jackson tribute in the near future?

    Best Datenight Ever

by @agata_and_warren_travel on 2023-03-01National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

After just about two decades we finally got to see this super group! From the moment these gentlemen went on stage it was clear why they are so incredibly popular. Their sheer talent, their voices and passion is translated into the most romantic music. What did surprise us was that they are genuinely funny. They told anecdotes, they laughed, they included the audience ( dancing in the aisles) and they entertained! I wish they were in Ottawa for more than one night because we would have gone to see them again! It was a spectacular date for my husband and me. Thank you Il Divo 💗

Lots of audio feedback and not what the group deserves!

by MHM on 2023-03-01OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Sound not the best; constant feedback from mics when singing and talking; spotlights on performers were poor when the happened - several times 1 or more of the 4 singers was left in darkness with no lighting on that side of the stage. Extra seats were added in front of us (6 rows) reducing our sightlines of the artists. Not the best for this group!!! We have attended each of their Canadian concerts since they started 20 years ago!

    Great evening! Love these guys!

by J. P. on 2023-03-01National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

The new fellow, Steve, fits in very well. I would have preferred more of their singing rather than the commentary that each of them did. Sebastien was a little over the top on his comments.

    Excellent

by Karen on 2023-03-01OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

These guys were wonderful. Their voices are amazing. The venue is fairly new ,holds 5000 people and they built it so every seat you sit in you can see the stage and it feels close. Excellent show
