About

Iron Maiden are one of the most formative bands to establish the heavy metal genre in the ’80s. Formed in 1975 in East London, the band underwent several personnel changes before releasing their self-titled debut in 1980. Iron Maiden’s sophomore effort, 1981’s Killers, was the first to chart in the U.S. and marked the final release with lead singer Paul Di'Anno. With the installment of frontman Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden released their breakthrough 1982 album, The Number of the Beast, which reached platinum certification, introduced two staples to the band’s catalog with the title track and “Run to the Hills” and kicked off a 10-year run of releases to land in the Top 40 on the Billboard 200, including their 1983 follow-up Piece of Mind and 1986’s Somewhere in Time. Dickinson departed in 1993, but returned in 1999 to cement the current lineup with bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris; guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers; and drummer Nicko McBrain, along with the band’s long-standing mascot “Eddie,” whose skeletal figure has graced the cover of nearly every release and become a signature of their live performances. Iron Maiden reached a new level of mainstream success in the ’10s, winning their first Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category for their 2010 single “El Dorado,” while 2010’s The Final Frontier and 2015’s The Book of Souls both earned No. 4 placements on the Billboard 200, marking their highest-charting albums at the time.

    Iron Madian

by lovewomen on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

I have been a Madian fan since they first came out...The concert was OK. But the vocials were hard to hear.(needed better mixing). every thing else was good.. I was a little disappointed that they did not play many of the older hits.. the new stuff was good. Eddy was cool ( but he always is)... It would have been nice if it were possible to buy T shirts of the banners they had behind them in the show.

    Bad Set List

by crosscourt on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

The show was still okay but all of us maiden fans left somewhat unfulfilled. Seen them in Vancouver on their last tour and bought 8 pairs for me and my buddies for this tour. Too much new music played when we all want the old tunes. Always look on the bright side of life instead of run to the hills, or cross eyed mary . Set list chosen will influence my decision to not go too next show. Sorry boys but I was greatly disappointed.

    Live British Metal

by goodwrench on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Iron Maiden delivers again, there is nothing like seeing a British metal band live, and Maiden is no exception. Last night the show was unforgetable, the roof was raised on GM Place. The stage show and lighting were 10/10, the sound was very good 9/10(dont think GMplace is very well suited for loud preformancec though), and of course the wide range of shirts, posters and flags had something for everyone. last but not least EDDY was the Bomb!!!

    Fire the sound engineer!!!

by Av8ryxx on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Dream Theater was amazing as always. Would've been nice to see them on the vid-screen from our seats at the other side of the building.... Sound for Maiden was not good. Vocals were too low half the time and guitar solos blended in to rest of the sound... This is NOT the Poweslave tour so don't show up expecting it. Research anything after and including Brave New World..

Iron Maiden is the best live show bar none

by cadniummonky on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

I've seen lots of rock and metal legends live. Iron Maiden is the best. They do everything right the sound is crystal clear if you did know the lyrics you could still tell what he's singing ,They pull the crowd right in, amazing backdrops, it's an incredibly good time. This tour they are playing all music from post blaze bailey era so basically if you saw them on the 08 tour thus like a continuation of it. If you only know old maiden they play some of the classics too but if you haven't heard the newer stuff it will blow you away. This show was amazing just like the last one bottom line go see them while you have the chance.

    Bruce still killz it

by Bzillionaire on 2010-06-25GM Place - Vancouver, BC

Vancouver - June 24th 2010 at GM Place. Wicked show, Bruce is amazing - still runs around the stage like a madman, and the vocals are just as strong as ever. I wish they played a few more of the old tunes from Live After Death and Number of the Beast... But still a great show.

    Maiden still deliver

by Hunter1 on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

The boys from the U.K still can deliver the goods on the big stage. The music was performed with the usual passion and perfection. My only disapointment after the previous tour that came to Vancouver was the scaled down stage show. The last time Maiden hit the road they had plenty of pyro and stage props that added to the awesome live soundtrack. Over all it was a great show, just didn't get blown away visually.

    maiden rocked

by noid88 on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

It was a great show as usual. The only thing I wished was that they played more of the older tunes that everyone loves.

    Awful setlist.

by Anonymous on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Dreamtheater was fantastic, couldn't hope for a better opening band at any concert. These guys are good enough that they should be headlining major shows. When Iron Maiden came out the reaction was huge. They opened with Wicker Man, then moved on to a bunch of their newer stuff that no one really wants to hear. By the time they finally got to Fear of the Dark, it had been over an hour of filler and the crowd wasn't really reacting anymore. There wasn't even a mosh pit. When Fear of the Dark started everyone got up and the crowd erupted, there was finally some energy in the air, then they said goodnight and the lights went dark while people called for an encore. It was really a shame that the setlist was so bad because the whole band was in top form, and Bruce Dickinson looked like a teenager on stage he had so much energy. Basically paying 80 bucks for nosebleeds for this setlist was a ripoff, 40 is a more reasonable price for what I got.

    My Son: A New Frontier

by Blackdove on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

With an eager and excited anticipation, I brought my 13-year-old son to raise his horns for (his) first time seeing our mutually adored favourite band. I'd raised my own horns, countless times before, and so this was the time for Justin to experience what I'd shared with him about for all these years since his arrival into my life. As a lover of music for many years, Maiden's presence in my life has provided perseverence, healing and strength to me from the numerous challenges I faced during childhood and adolescence. It was this same knowledge, if not the same truths and experiences, that I wanted to impart to my son. He lifted his horns happily as Bruce said how everyone is welcome into the worldwide family of Iron Maiden, as the respects to Ronnie James Dio caused my eyes to burn. I thanked God then for the music and musicians who've inspired me throughout the years. I also want to sincerely thank Bruce, Steve, Janick, Nicko, Dave and Adrian, for giving me this opportunity to pass the torch to my son a love and appreciation for music, for him to hold proudly to the final frontier and beyond. Thank you!

    Maiden..I have seen this before

by Artman666 on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

I have seen a lot of Maiden tours. Some sets have old school songs, which I prefer and some tours promote a new album. This set begs the question. Steve, when are you going to write something new? Ever since Powerslave I have been waiting to hear the magic of Killers and # of the beast but it hasn't arouse yet. I sure miss Clive Burr. Up the hammers .

    Goodies, but no Oldies

by MrBlue16 on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

They're such a great band, but I am a fan of the older stuff (Number of the Beast - 7th Son era), and they played maybe 4 songs from those albums. Not even, actually. Nothing from Piece of Mind, Powerslave, 7th Son or Somewhere in Time. Not one song. If I had known, I would have sold my ticket for cheaper than I paid. I should have done research; not their fault at all. I love Maiden. Seen them 7 times now, but - as far as live goes - they are now a part of my past.

    Iron in Vancouver

by ElDorado2345 on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Having been a fan of Iron Maiden since I was twelve, I jumped at the opportunity to see them for the second time. I wondered if it was possible for them to top their show from the Somewhere Back In Time tour, as that show had an unbelievable amount of energy coming from both the audience and band. Well let me tell you, there was indeed more energy packed into GM Place this time around, and it made for a more enjoyable experience than last time around. The majority of the setlist came from Maiden's last three albums with their new single, "El Dorado" and a few old tracks being thrown into the mix for good measure. I found Bruce Dickinson to be slightly low in the mix at times, but that was usually corrected in a quick manner. Overall, it was a very memorable show. It was good to hear their newer material, since it was a continuation from their last tour. To hear them play "Running Free" live was worth the price of admission alone.

    Maiden final frontier

by BCBouy on 2010-06-25General Motors Place - Vancouver

Stage was pretty cool and Bruce was up to form running all over the place and jumping around. I didnt know to many of the songs as most where off thier new album but "fear of the dark" and "hallowed be thy name" did not disappoint there was limited "eddie" time but all in all I thought it was a good show, everybody seemed to behave themselves from what I saw

Iron Maiden always rules live. They are one the greatest metal bands. The set was a little boring in the middle but still a great show!!!!!!!
