About
Jerro (real name Jeroen Decosemaker) is a DJ and producer originally from Hasselt, Belgium. Specializing in melodic house and downtempo electronic music, Jerro has received support from electronic tastemaker labels such as This Never Happened, Anjunadeep and Future Classic.
Jerro's career really kicked off in 2018 when he was featured on Lane 8's Root To Branch, Vol 3 compilation. The following year, Jerro released his debut EP, The Fool, via Lane 8's This Never Happened label. Also in 2019, Jerro released another EP, Pantheon, which saw a lot of success on streaming platforms and SiriusXM radio.
In early 2020, Jerro released the official "Road (Jerro Remix)." He also released his collaborative track "Holywell" with This Never Happened artist OCULA. Forging a relationship with trance label Anjunadeep, Jerro recorded the track "Tunnel Vision" on their annual compilation Anjunadeep 11. "Tunnel Vision" was Jerro's first song featuring a vocalist: Los Angeles-based singer Kauf.
Also in 2020, Jerro followed up with another EP, Closer. Speaking to EDMTunes about what he wanted fans to take away from Closer, Jerro said: "I hope people are able to shut off everything around them for a moment while listening to my tracks. Music is such a great way for me to forget everything and be taken on a journey, and I hope that I can share that feeling in my tracks too!"
In 2021, Jerro released his debut LP, Coming Home, via This Never Happened. It showcased four singles: "Lost For Words," "Subtleties," "Presence," and "In The Dark," plus features from Panama, Fractures and Tailor.
Opening up to Dancing Astronaut about his debut LP's influences, Jerro said: "My debut album is something that I have always dreamed of since I started making music, and it feels surreal that it is finally being released."
Jerro continued: "One thing I love about the album is the diversity of sounds. There are pop-driven tracks like 'Too Weak' that are the people pleasers, true melodic-house tracks like 'Stay,' indie tracks like 'Are You There,' and club tracks like 'Sweeping.' I really wanted to put together an album where every type of listener can find songs that they enjoy, while still staying true to that classic Jerro sound, and I couldn't be more proud of how it turned out!"
