JO DEE MESSINA IN CONCERT:
Country music just wouldn't be the same without Jo Dee Messina's spunky collection of hits and trademark red hair. Her catchy country tunes have dominated the charts since the '90s, and they're even more compelling live. Whether she's showcasing her vocal prowess on hits like "Head Carolina, Tails California" or sharing her spirited attitude with adoring concertgoers, Messina definitely knows how to get the crowd going, leading fans in fun sing-alongs and telling stories along the way. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
A Massachusetts native, Jo Dee Messina started out singing in local clubs with her siblings, eventually attracting the attention of Curb Records and moving to Nashville. Her solo career kicked off in 1996 with her widely successful self-titled debut, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and produced two Top Ten singles. I'm Alright followed two years later and generated significant buzz with three No. 1 hits, ultimately going double platinum in the US. Since then, she's collaborated with Tim McGraw, toured with legends George Strait and The Judds, and sold over five million albums. With the desire to truly connect her fans to her music, Messina launched a Kickstarter campaign to support her 2014 album, reaching her goal in just 30 days due to her extremely dedicated fan base. Jo Dee Messina will treat audiences to her classics as well as new material from her fifth studio album Me on a string of upcoming shows.

Jo Dee did a great job of entertaining She was very real and honest and has this crazy little mischevious laugh that was pretty cool. Her voice was true and her new songs were great as well as the tried and true ones.
I really enjoyed this concert. Jo Dee has such great spirit and a powerful voice. She sounds just a great as when she first got big. The event location allowed for an intimate experience. She did an encore that was like no other. A few songs and then requests. She allowed the crowd to request songs that didn't make it into the program. She really interacted with the crowd, told stories and made the crowd feel welcomed. Jo Dee was sincere and thanked everyone for coming and keeping her dream of singing alive.
I thought that Jo Dee was just wonderful. I have seen her before quite a few years ago, but this time I was able to be in the front row and it was an amazing experience. I would go see her again. She was very entertaining all the way through, her stories were great to hear and she is so down to earth. You felt like she was just one of your friends, she wasn't dressed up all fancy or anything, it was like just spending time with an old friend. Her band was wonderful too. You can tell they all just love performing for the audience. We had a great time.
Jo dee's voice is amazing. Strong, clear, vibrant, passionate. The songs she writes and chooses to sing have wonderful stories that everyday people can relate to. She is very sincere and confident in the presentation of her art, and you can tell she is truly doing what she loves to do, not for the money or fame, but because she achieves inner joy by sharing her talents with others. And those who sit back and witness her concert achieve inner joy too, for they are touched by every emotion through the words and melodies of her music. Wonderful lady with a great fun-spirited personality who has incredible charisma.
Very much enjoyed the show. Great voice and went out of her way to connect with the audience on a personal level. Hope as her career matures she retains her friendly and open rapport. The musicians in the band are also quite talented and made the show fun and the delivery of Jo Dee's performances top drawer.
Her voice was as good or better as on the cd. The band was on the money. the event place may not have any frills but it does make it for an intamate evening and I felt like she was singing to her old friends. I woud go see her again this week if it were possible!1
This concert was pretty amazing. she is a very down to earth person and shes funny. she really connected to the audience. i just love her!

The venure was small enough to be accesible, and large enough to feel special. Jodee was awesome - she sang all of her favourites and chatted with her audience. She sounds amazing live!
Jo Dee Messina....powerful voice, good sense of humour, great songs, what else to say? The concert was wonderful, I was surprised that it wasn't a full house. Went with my Mom & Dad and they enjoyed it as much as I did. Worth every penny. Fabulous!!
The small venue at River Cree was a perfect setting for this rather intimate performance by one of my favourite singer-songwriters. Jo Dee's voice is so powerful and her lyrics stunningly evocative but what made this show so special were the personal glimpses she gave her audience into her life and her emotions. She easily moved from comedy to sentiment to anger to pathos and back again without missing a beat. Her connection with her mostly feminine audience was undeniable. I can't wait for my next chance to see this great performer again.
Great show, Jo Dee has such a pure voice and really loves what she does. She was funny, sang all the hits, and interacted with the audience.
Jo Dee is a charming, talented performer. We can all forgive her for gaining a little weight after having a child but I really feel that a performer should at least attempt to look their best. That is part of the entertainment value. The outfit she had on looked like she had a burrito explode on it while making her dinner. The pants/skirt had shiny stains on it that glinted in the light. It was a sacky, cheap-looking outfit (possibly bought at WalMart) that looked like it would be comfortable to wear around the house, as long as nobody was coming over. "The Venue" at River Cree Resort is a really bad tent with no ambience and extremely poor acoustics as well. Too bad because Jo Dee is so talented - she has an amazing voice. I really wish her all the best.
It was an amazing show and she loved interacting with the audience. When she came back for an encore and asked what we wanted to hear despite many yelling fans she did not play "Stand Beside Me".... That was the only thing I have to complain about. The show was superb!!
My husband and I attended and sat in the 2nd row. Fabulous show. She was very personable and her voice was incredible. The song choices included past hits, recent favourites and some new music that I can't wait to be released!! Her performances are highly recommended and you won't be disappointed. My only disappointment is that more people didn't stand and enjoy the tunes! Thanks!
This concert was absolutely amazing! I have never been to a concert that was so small, with a great atmosphere, location and Jo Dee Messina was very interactive. Jo Dee Messina was funny, entertaining and sang beautifully! She was very real and asked for requests and ended up singing the national anthem and amazing grace. It was a fundraiser and they ended up raising a large amount of money!
