    joe diffie

by jacbill on 2013-05-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The Mark Chesnut portion of the show was just right; a good mix of music and visiting. Joe Diffie was unforgettably bad. I think the music might have been good but the volume was so loud I was unable to understand or appreciate it . I almost walked out. The volume may have been appropriate for an arena or a stadium, but was a literal blast out for a concert hall as beautiful as the Jube. Don't people do sound checks anymore?

They were all 'awesome'. Danny and Sharon's act made tears run down my face because I laughed so hard.

    CFCW Appreciation Concert

by Pauline1 on 2013-05-24Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The concert was great, however would have liked to buy a t-shirt with all the act on it and the year. Part of the money from the t-shirt sales could go to the chariety.

Old School Country is still the best!

by RBre on 2013-05-23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Really enjoyed both performers. They're two of the guys that got me listening to country in the early 90's while I was a hard core rocker. They still sound great and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I thought the sound system wasn't very good though. It seemed that the instruments sounded fine but when they started singing the voices were distorted and hard to understand. It gave the impression that it was too loud. Also, everyone in my section was wearing way too much cologne and perfumes. Certainly not the fault of the event organizers but I'll bring it up anyway. When will people figure it out - although I'm sure you think you smell lovely at home, when you're in an enclosed space with hundreds of other lovely smelling people for several hours - yuck!

    Joe Diffie & Mark Chesnutt

by KittyKat780 on 2013-05-23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Having seen Mark Chesnutt six times previously I was soooo looking forward to this concert. However it would have been nice to have been informed that it was an "acoustic" performance with two other guitarists, he didn't bring his band this time and that was disappointing. That said, Mark Chesnutt could sing the phone book and I would still go. Joe Diffie was superb - would see him again in a heartbeat.

    Great, Great Concert!!!

by Granma on 2013-05-23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

For the 23rd annual Listener Appreciation Concert it was totally great. Mark Chestnut kinda stole the show. Great the way he came out with no set list and asked for requests from the audience. Haven't seen that for years. Joe Diffie is such a great entertainer. Just fabulous. None stop music. Just fantastic concert.
