About

In the 4 years since joining forces, fast-rising, genre-defying alt/hip-hop phenoms Joey Valence & Brae have cemented themselves as a must-see live act and bonafide recording artists with viral one-off singles and full-length projects like their recently released third studio album HYPERYOUTH (RCA Records). With the volume turned up to max capacity and while remaining undeniably themselves throughout, JVB is as eclectic and hard-hitting as ever on HYPERYOUTH and recently wrapped the first leg of their sold-out HYPERYOUTH WORLD TOUR in celebration of the new record which brought their insane live show (which BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders calls "the best live show I've been to in years") to cities throughout North America and the UK as well as to major festivals including Gov Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza (Chicago, Paris and Berlin), Osheaga, Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits Music Festival and more. HYPERYOUTH was written, produced, mixed and mastered by the pair in Joey's State College, PA bedroom and is jam-packed with all the hallmarks of the best of JVB. It's a sample-heavy, maximalist rager threaded by boisterous raps, booty popping bars, catchy call and response hooks and EDM-infused beats, and features the likes of JPEGMAFIA, Rebecca Black and TiaCorine. The record digs deeper thematically, weaving a message of growing up without getting old throughout -- a marked, lyrical evolution and the duo's most innovative work to date that still marries elements from their early hits and critically-acclaimed debut PUNK TACTICS (its title track was Certified RIAA Gold) and sophomore LP NO HANDS + NO HANDS (Deluxe Edition), which featured Danny Brown, Z-Trip and Ayesha Erotica. In between those drops, they've collaborated with an eclectic mix of friends and fans including IDK, Pendulum, 6ix, ACRAZE and Apashe, and conquered the sync market over the past year, appearing in viral commercials including Pepsi's award-winning "Chase Cars," in video games such as Madden NFL 26, WWE 2025, MLB: The Show 24 and on popular TV shows including Abbott Elementary, Cobra Kai, Based on a True Story and more. With each year, JVB grow bolder, braver and louder, turning up the volume on their swag as they skillfully traverse a smash and grab collision of 90s hip-hop, drum 'n' bass and decades-spanning pop culture references, carving out their own niche with a signature sound that's equal-parts nostalgic yet futuristic, authentic and infectious while still on a mission to one day open a Cheesecake Factory in their hometown. • Once again an unbelievable show!!

by Anth on 2025-10-31The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

My son introduced me Joey and Brae's music a couple of years ago and loved their stuff. First time we seen them was at the Hard Luck in Toronto January 2024 which holds 300 people and of course it was sold out. It was great show. Next we seen them at the Axis club in Toronto which holds 600 people in September of 2024 another great show which was sold out also. Just seen them at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto which holds 1300 again sold out and the show was unfuckingbelievable!! The energy they brought was awesome and the music hall was the perfect venue for them. The mix of music they played was great and what they did off Hyperyouth was awesome!! If you haven't seen Joey and Brae live yet it is a must!! Put it on your bucket list. Catch them now while they are doing the smaller venues because it's just a matter of time before these two start selling out arena's.

  • Such a fun show

This was one of the best concerts I've been to. Joey and Brae put on such a great show, and you can tell they genuinely care about and love their fans. If you get the chance, please go see these guys.

  • Great show, bad venue

by Danika on 2024-09-30Rating: 3 out of 5

Had an amazing time! They really know how to put on a great show. It was a sold out show in Ottawa. They started later then I expected, doors opened at 7 and then they opener was at 8:30 and a little after 9 they came on. The venue is my only real complaint way to small for the group of people there and if you weren't in the front you couldn't see very well.

Great show, these guys have an almost Beastie Boy vibe, minus the ability to play instruments. Great with the fans! Will see them again!!

  • Fun performance from JVB. Venue seating was an issue.

by Dave on 2024-01-31Hard Luck Bar - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert overall was great. I went with my partner and we had a good time. JVB’s staff was really great, and I was able to get through the merch line quickly. The seating in the venue was tight and it was difficult to see anything beyond the heads of the performers, because of the crowd. Still, a really enjoyable concert. Would come back!
