  • Magestic, but better outdoors

by Casualwonder on 2018-06-30Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Show in a seated theater makes it a bit overly formal and restraining to those who would like to dance. Nonetheless, the music, sound and the energy is super awesome, positive and at times magestic.

  • John Butler can play guitar!

by Loveroflife on 2018-06-30Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The orpheum is always a fave to see a band, Although the sound was a little muffled for this one and due to a late dinner reservation we missed the opening act (which I heard was really good. John Butler never disappoints! He's evolved from his hippie Grand National days. He played a 12 minute guitar solo that was out of this world. Will always see him when he comes to town.

  • Absolutely amazing

Any moment they play, he sings, it’s just perfect!!

  • late start but was worth the wait

by dodadoler on 2017-09-14Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Show was a couple of hours late starting due to a breakdown of the equipment truck. The opening act was cancelled due to the early curfew at Malkin Bowl (why why why the early curfew for a setting in Stanley Park????) John played a different guitar/banjo every song. Was simply amazing, such a variety of themes from bluegrass to funk. I really enjoyed this show and the venue is great. Not a bad view from anywhere.

  • Keeps getting better!

4th time seeing JBT and can't wait for the next one. Great venue! Show up early though; loooong line to get in

  • John Butler is GREAT live!

by diggydiggydigdig on 2017-09-12Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Once again John Butler was fantastic, as were his bandmates. Super tight band and JB is one of the best guitarists I have ever seen - incredible open tuning player and should be on the best 100 guitarists list. Being able to sing while absolutely wailing is a rare talent indeed!

  • There are no words to describe except AMAZING!

by thedisagreer on 2014-02-25Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

as always, Commodore is a great venue but John Butler Trio performing live will take your breath away. I was extremely impressed by the length of the show, no other artist performs 2.5 hours straight on their own and all the fans were truly thankful!

  • John Butler is AWESOME!

by Shariw on 2014-02-19Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Can hardly wait for him to come back again. Loved the old and the new. What amazing energy. Loved having him play at the Commodore. Best venue for up close and personal.

The Band just has it all, amazing musicians, excellent songs, and the grove to make the ambiance a place where you want to be!
