Singer-songwriter John Fullbright  took the folk world by storm in 2012 with his Grammy-nominated debut album From the Ground Up, and he's been on the rise ever since. His artfully crafted songs pay homage to his rural Oklahoma upbringing, and his evocative Americana sound is the perfect canvas for his heartrending vocals. Whether he's performing songs like "Forgotten Flowers" solo with his acoustic guitar or digging into "Jericho" with a full backing band, Fullbright is a no-frills performer who always lets his powerful music speak for itself at his intimate live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

John Fullbright grew up on a farm in tiny Bearden, Oklahoma -- a town of  fewer than 150 people. He took up the piano at age five and began lessons a few years later, and by the time he was in high school he was performing his music locally. He dropped out of college to pursue music, and in 2008 he launched his solo career. His first release was a 2009 live album recorded at The Blue Door in Oklahoma City, a venue that was an important stomping ground for Fullbright in the early years of his career. He made his full-length studio debut in 2012 with From the Ground Up, a critical and commercial success that garnered him a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album. His 2014 sophomore album Songs received similar praise, resulting in a tour with like-minded folk duo Shovels & Rope. A passionate performer known for his world-weary voice and poignant lyrics, Fullbright continues to impress on his unforgettable tours.
