It was such a great concert. He can still sing! He sang songs we had forgotten about and we loved every minute of it. It was a great evening all around. We hope Johnny comes back next year. We'd like to take our mother. I could've sat there for another two hours. Amazing.
I was thoroughly enchanted by Johnny Mathis. His voice has not changed in 40 years. What a showman. I would definitely see him again. As a lover of his music, which is timeless, Johnny held the audience's attention for the entire show.
From the moment he walked onto the stage it was magic. His voice is incredible. He sang from start to finish with one break. The comic that he had with him was just plain funny. But the magic was the voice. Johnny hasn't aged in his 50 plus years. The man can still carry a tune.
We have seen him evey time he plays Rama and will continue to do so as long as he comes to Oriliia.
The guy still has an amazing voice and sang all his big hits as well as many classics. ....unlike most concerts nowadays, it was nice to be able to hear the lyrics again for a change. The short break that he took was filled capably by singer/comedian Gary Mule Deer who had us all in stitches.
Excellent show, with very good supporting act, a great show from start to finish. Johnny still has it after all the years. Well done. Can not wait until next year.
Unfortunately, I think I could have enjoyed Mathis more on a CD. Altho his voice is still sweet, there was no "oomph" to his singing,. It seemed that he kept it soft and quiet so that he wouldn't have to try to hit the old High Notes. He stood in one place the majority of the time and barely interacted with the audience. The orchestra was wonderful, and he did sing a good selection of his songs, so that was very enjoyable. On the other hand, the comedian, Gary Mule Deer was fantastic!!!
Johnny Mathis was heart rendering. Bringing back so many memories of the 60's. His voice was the same quality as it was 40 yrs ago. The audience was spellbound!!!!!
Johnny' s performance was overwhelmingly entertaining each and every time that my wife and I have had the great opportunity to see him on stage. He IS the master of soft, smooth and easy-listening favorites that showcase his classy stage presence. His banter with the audience and band reflect his gentle, genuine respect and appreciation for both. The choice of songs ( from long ago right up to present time) both thrilled members of the audience and afforded them the opportunity to mouth the words and tap their feet. Johnnny's ability to sing still captures our admiration for his beautiful talent. The orchestra was superb as it flowed along with the stylings of Johnny. The comedy and music of Gary Mule Deer added to the delight of the evening. We will return to see and hear Johnny Mathis at our next opportunity! Thanks to Casino Rama for availing the public with such great talent.
We very much enjoyed the Johnny Mathis show last night. He is very low key and shy as we have always known him. His voice seems as good as ever. We particularly liked his famous hit songs. His comedian friend was very good too - lots of laughs. He is not a loud singer and at time he was a bit difficult to hear. Sometimes the orchestra was too loud but the orchestra was very good.
This was my first concert at Casino Rama and I enjoyed every single minute of it. The bus ride from Toronto was relaxing and the show was absolutely amazing. I am a longtime admirer of Johnny Mathis and to sit in that wonderful theatre and watch him sing songs that I have listened to on cds, was an experience I will remember for ever. Gary Mule Deer was hilarious and so versatile. A thoroughly wonderful evening with an artist who surpassed all my expectations.
Johnny Mathis was extraordinary and an unbelievable talent. The orchestra was first rate. It was the best and most professional show I have seen in 50 years. We had perfect seats.
After performing his repitoire of music so many times over the years, how does he manage to keep the lyrics so meaningful!!! We hear and understand each word and his phrasing is impeccable. Thank you for an evening full of wonderful music marred only by the "late arrivals".
Doubly wonderful because I had ticket for last year's show and missed it because I was in hospital! The voice is still fabulous and it was great to hear him sing in person. Comedian with him was very funny which was an added bonus. However people coming in late and leaving early was very, very disconcerting.This would not be allowed in any other entertainment venue.
What a delight to attend a Johnny Mathis concert after not seeing him live for more than 30 years. His voice, power, control and range are as amazing as ever. Clearly every song evoked a happy memory as the audience cheer and clapped each selection. I felt like I was seeing a great showman who had the courtesy to bring his audience a 30 piece orchestra rather than a bunch of karaoke tapes for him to sing to in front of a black curtain. Gary MuleDeer was a wonderful interlude that had me aching with laughter. I wish I could remember more of his jokes so I could look good sharing them with my friends. Thanks, Casino Rama, for a great evening.
The back up band was terrific and the half time comedian a hoot
Johnny still has the 'magic'. The show was very well done. Timing was well orchestrated with no lags between sets. Found Gary Mule Deer to be very funny and entertaining

WOW!!! - He's still got it!!! We went to Smokey's show back in July and thought that was great. But Johnny blew Smokey out of the water!
He is still one of the best singers in the world. His voice is still so soft and soothing and it's wonderful to be able to understand every word of his songs. It was a great to see an icon and he is a gentleman in every way, gracious and unassuming. The comedian had everyone in stitches and well worth seeing again. If I wasn't so far away I would go and see it again because he is that good!
