    Great evening of rock/blues

by Panfernes on 2013-01-24B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Johnny Winter looks frailer than he used to, but he hasn't lost a bit of his magic. Great rock classics, amazing band -- totally worth seeing. (Only thing I wouldn't recommend about the evening was the somewhat dry pork tenderloin, but that was not Johnny Winter's fault.)

My mother, Brother and I, went to BB king to see Johnny Winter live for the first time. Wow ! perfect ! love the place ( i want to go back ), loves the show. Great music. A good way to start our New york Week-end. How about Candy Kane....the same... perfect. She just found 3 more fans.

    Good show, bad shound

by akvavit on 2010-09-17Clarke Theatre Foundation - Mission

First of all I have to say that David Gogo's acoustic blues set was incredible. I hate to say it but he almost stole the show. Second, Johnny and the band were great as always but the sound mix was terrible. I was in row 14 right in the middle – pretty much a perfect spot. I could barely hear Johnny's guitar and forget about the vocals or between-song banter. This is not uncommon and I don't get it. Surely by this time in the history of rock this sort of thing shouldn't be a problem. Was it the venue, JW's people? I don't know but when I pay almost $50 for a concert I expect to be able to clearly hear the artist. I'm giving this four stars because – hey, it's Johnny, but it would definitely have been a five with good sound.
