The new premium seating was a great idea and well worth it to get up close to this amazing group. The music and energy that WOTE created made this concert the best for all ages and so much fun!
Walk off the Earth.... very entertaining, fun and full of energy. What a talented group, playing so many instruments and really loved to play for the crowd.
Found this year’s premium seating to be nothing but a cash grab. Nothing was set up how it was promised or promoted. Show was delayed which we understand but no communication to crowd or their staff and the microphone was working just fine
The show was simply the best, Ice Cube put on an amazing show! This was my daughters second concert, and she had a lot of fun!!
Only one thing that was awful this year was the choice of alcoholic beverages, my husband and I tried 3 different beers and two different hiballs (rye&coke and a ceasar) the hard liquor all tasted like tequila and was very disappointed that we couldnt get a Canadian or even a Budweiser because the choice of beer was not very good, ended up not drinking all of any drink we purchased which were very overpriced. Other then that the rodeo was awesome loved the entertainment!! Wish it was for more then 3 days during the fair.
More vendors selling western stuff to compliment the rodeo. Sound for the rodeo was way too loud. When you have to wear earplugs because of the extreme sound, are unable to even hear the person next to you talk & the continuous vibrating of the seats, screeching of the pa system & unable to understand the announcer because of the feedback was definitely a disappointment of this great event. Many people complained to the announcer & Northlands staff to be told there was nothing that could be done to correct the problem. Assigned seating would be a bonus when purchasing tickets in advance.
It was a very well performed show wanted to see the Beach Boy's all of my life and finally got too.
were amazing, the only thing I didn't like was that, I have friends that didn't get the chance to see them,and if I would of known, they could of sat in the bar next to the venue.
Was a well run show from the announcers to the field crews. Great performances by both cowboys and stock. Would definitely attend again.
Very good rodeo, entertaining, well organized & high quality.
Seating was first come first serve, and we managed to sit front and centre. Enjoyed the show.
Rodeo was good, food on grounds was good, the idea to sell only craft beer or spirits from Alberta was stupid. I have nothing against craft beer or spirits other than I’m not into them and don’t like not having a choice. Had a rye on the first night and could only stomach 3 sips as the taste was horrible, poured the rest of the $9.00 down the drain. Consequently I didn’t have a drink other than water for the remaining 2 performances (which really isn’t an entirely bad thing). My issue is the lack of choice between craft and non craft products, not sure if the person who came up with the bad idea to force craft products onto people is aware of the fact that Labatts products are made right here in Edmonton and Edmontonians are paid to do so, the same Edmontonians who maybe attending K-days. Just a thought.
Loved the show! Really liked having premium party tickets, not too crowded! I would definitely buy premium party tickets next year for the shows! Great addition to K-Days!
I saw Marianas Trench a few years ago at kdays and had to leave early due to getting punched by someone trying to get in front of us. This time I got the premium tickets and have to say that it was 100% a better experience. Keep it up with the separate area!
Line up into K-days was way too long, only half way through it in 30min due to there being only one ticket booth. Unable to use my ‘upgraded ticket’ due to a mass of people blocking the way. There was no separate line, you had to fight your way through a crowd of hundreds just to get to the place where you could show your ticket. This area was also in the beer garden and so had I brought my kids in, not sure what I would have done. I expected a lot more from an event that has been running for many years.
The premium area was the best thing ever invented.
The seating arrangements this year were terrible. It should have been made clearer that you need to buy “premium” seats if you wanted to be close to the stage, since in the past, there has never been a separate section, closed off to general public. Definitely wanted premium seats. Should have a designated mosh pit area only.
Concert was amazing!! Except for the mosh pits, cuz im too old for that stuff. The K-days staff around venue were not very helpful tho, didnt know what was going on with preferred viewing area
Firstly, let me start by saying Billy Talent was awesome as always and not the reason behind my title for this review. With all the excellent things we were lead to believe we would experience with the premium party tickets was well...a bit of a let down. The event staff were unorganized as far as ticket taking, stamping for in and out of the VIP area...which I never received, no alcohol in a fully licensed area..despite others being allowed in with it. And also no bar or bathrooms that were contained strictly inside the area either. There were unforeseen circumstances that lead to the show being delayed due to weather, but both the band and the venue made up for it. By not shortening the performance and pushing back the nightly fireworks back. Overall, I hope with reviews like this it will help improve it for further performances this year and definitely in years to come.
No concerns with the band. They were great. It was the organization of the event. Paid for VIP section for two teens. They were held at a gate for almost 2 hours waiting to get in with hundreds of other concert goers-many who were intoxicated. When concert was about to begin-finally opened the area up to a mob scene-all running for the front. Luckily they were able to secure a good spot but there were many at the front who did not pay for VIP because of the confusion. Fights going on because people were frustrated. Not executed well at all.
