As the first Italian female artist to win a Grammy Award, pop singer-songwriter Laura Pausini has transcended Italy's boot-shaped border and arrived at international success. With over 45 million records sold worldwide, Pausini's powerful soprano voice and emotional stage presence have captivated ticket buyers since her 1993 debut, garnering her comparisons to Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand, and Celine Dion. Following ten studio albums, Pausini released 20 – The Greatest Hits in 2013, featuring the No. 1 hit "Limpido," a duet with Australian superstar Kylie Minogue. After first rising to fame in Italy with her self-titled 1993 debut album, Pausini would go on to release a series of award-winning albums recorded in both Italian and Spanish. She has also performed in English alongside artists including Josh Groban and Michael Buble. Pausini’s 2006 album, Io Canto (I Sing), won Best Female Pop Vocal Album at the Latin Grammys, sparking an international tour with Marc Anthony. In 2013, Pausini marked the 20th anniversary of her career by kicking off The Greatest Hits World Tour, which extends through 2014 and has tickets flying out of box offices around the globe.
The concert was good. I thought she would sing more in Spanish, but I guess there were more Italians at the venue. All the best Laura!!
She is truly an amazing singer. she has a lot of talent and a lot of energy. she speaks and sings five languages. plus she is a very , very BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. i Love You Laura!! Marry Me. ciao giuseppe
I love Laura and her music........I have a very sentimental connection with her music. I was on the other hand very disappointed artistically with the performance. Stage was very basic, no lights, no sizzle very plain and uneventful. I feel the venue was too large. Smaller venue would have made it cozier for the plain down to earth performance. I still enjoy her music I just felt it was very expensive for what we got.
One of the most dynamic performers : charming, beautiful and powerful voice, sang in spanish and french as well as italian. Would love to see her again!
i thought the show was great. Laura has an incredible voice and because she sings in so many languages, she is a real crowd pleaser. She knows how to work a stage and you can see that so many fancy stage set ups are not necessary when you can perform as she does.
Laura put on a great show at the ACC. She came out with a great attitude and was very confident. She is very talented and can sing in 4 languages.
She's a great artist ! The concert was short . No show, just plain singing . Not worth the expensive price of tickets .
Amazing concert. Very good sound. Very good music and atmosphere.
All I can say is WOW WOW WOW...her voice blew me away!! Fantastica Laura.
I LOVE Laura Pausini but I found myself distracted by how loud the speakers were; unnessesary. Whoever was responsible for the sound ruined the whole thing for me. Also, I was very thrown off by the delay in the screen behind her. She was singing but the screen behind her was about 2 seconds behind. it was HORRIBLE It's really disappointing that someone so talented was paired with such amateurs to mix her show.
The show was average, but I found the show to be too short, when you pay that kind of money to see a show and then you only get an hour and half of singing and talking, found it hard to understand some of the words to the songs, the band was loud and overpowered her voice, She has a wonderful voice but for some reason it just wasn't the greatest. We have been there for other performances and they have put on a show for three hours straight.
She was fantastic even if the venue wasn't. She was too good an artist, too much a quality voice to have to sing in the Air Canada Centre. Not that the ACC is bad, because I was recently there for Kiss and the ACC was perfect for them. Also, you really need to have the ACC full to have the right sound and for Laura Pausini I think the venue was way too big. A place like Massey Hall with the acoustic qualities would have been perfect for her except that it was probably too small. It's a shame that Toronto has no venues in size between the ACC and Massey Hall. Anyway, Laura was booming, spectacular, and extremely personable with her fans. She never gave up on the fans even though they started out slow and quiet. She sings fantastically well in Italian, Spanish, English and French. Having her father, Fabrizio, sing on stage with her was a really nice touch that endeared her fans to her even more. Hope she comes back again soon.
This was a once in a lifetime event. Awesome. I would recommend her to everyone. She is the queen of light music (musica leggera).
I just was waiting for her from years.... I listening her music since I was 14 years old, and the show was really wonderful, She is amazing, I will recommend to more friends, Thanks.
The show was amazing. She is so passionate and puts in 150%.
Laura was totally amazing with the crowd...she even had one of the audience memeber up on stage to sing with her- very friendly performer! She sings live just like her CDs but even better!! Having her father there was totally amazing and knowing so many languages, is amazing!! I would love to see her again!
Besides her talent, her amazing voice and high-quality show, yesterday Laura impressed me for her personality! She was very warm with her staff, her father, and her audience. She shared the audience's attention with her staff by allowing them to do "solos" and by making them shine!!. That was a very nice gesture from her and says a lot about her!! Also, the fact that she included her father in her shows was OMG! The sweetest thing!! And when a fan went to stage and sang with her hahaha that was so good! On top of everything, she was very sensitive to her audience's needs: constantly switching between the Italian and Spanish (as per audience's requests) and including songs in English and French as well. Laura demonstrated yesterday that there are no language barriers to share the same feeling and emotions among Torontonians, French, Italians, Latinos, etc. It is great to have an artist who is open to cultures and diversity. It is possible to be citizens, not just of a country but rather the world. Thanks Laura for showing it to us and for your great show!!!!
it was an energentic performance there was numerous times when we were dancing and standing up clapping with her music. I enjoyed the older songs.
It was simply amazing. Laura Pausini and the whole band made my night so special and I would go to her concert a million times again. Have been listening to her songs since I was a young child and being there was more than just wonderful. She is gorgeous and an adorable person. Esuna bella ragazza Laura. Ti amo.
Laura is incredible. One of the few true artists out there. Her voice in amazing live. She is like an Italian Celine Dion. Her and her band put on a great show including a lot of her older more popular songs mixed with her new album. The crowd was a little subdued but I think that was owing to the fact that the majority of her fan base in North America is in an older demographic. Not the kind of people to get up and dance. I think she kind of fed off this energy but she tried her best to warm the crowd up and by the end most people were up out of there seats. She is absolutely wonderful. This girl sells out 90,000.00 + seat venues all over Europe and South America. She has sung duets and had songs written for her by some of the world's biggest artists. I wish that more people on this side of the Atlantic knew about this gem.
