About

LES BRERS IN CONCERT:

If any group is qualified to carry on the hallowed legacy of The Allman Brothers Band, it's Southern rockers Les Brers. Led by original ABB drummer Butch Trucks, Les Brers takes the classic sounds of the late great band and adds some unique new twists to keep things fresh. Ticket buyers will feel like they're catching up with an old friend as they hear all the jazz solos, bluesy slide work, and twangy vocals that made the Allman Brothers Band so popular. Guitarists Pat Bergeson and Jack Pearson fuel the band's marathon jams with lightning-fast licks and fluid melodicism to spare, while vocalist Lamar Williams Jr. puts a soulful spin on ABB classics like "Blue Sky," "Ramblin' Man," and "Ain't Wasting Time No More." The end result is so much more than just a tribute show – it's an expansion on The Allman Brother's legend that devotees shouldn't pass up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Butch Trucks made a name for himself in the '70s as one half of the dynamic rhythmic duo that powered The Allman Brothers Band. The group's unique fusion of rock, blues, jazz, and country came to define the sound of Southern rock, and today albums like At Fillmore East (1971), Eat a Peach (1972), and Brothers and Sisters (1973) stand as classics of the genre. Years of substance abuse and the deaths of several key members tore the band apart in 1976, but they reformed several times over the next two decades and truly rekindled the spark in 1999 when Butch's nephew Derek Trucks joined on slide guitar. The '00s saw some spectacular highlights for the band, but their run ultimately came to an end in 2014 when they parted ways to focus on new projects. Trucks formed Les Brers the following year with second ABB drummer Jaimoe and other former members Marc Quinones (percussion), Oteil Burbridge (bass), and Jack Person (guitar). Like other offshoots of the Allman Brother's family tree, Les Brers builds on the group's familiar sound with a fresh take on the extended jams that generations of listeners have come to know and love. Fans looking to experience the amazing and untamed sound of Southern rock at its best won't want to miss Les Brers on tour.
