Good band, a better audience. I paid for the whole seat, but they only sold me half.
These guys are LEGENDARY. An incredible discography brought to life in a cinematic, theatrical, high energy show. Phenomenal performances, great mood in the theatre, great set and lights, HIGHLY recommend.
I've loved this band since I discovered their album, Lonesome Dreams in 2012. Their energy is great and their mood evoking songs really translate well to a live venue. A great crowd and vibe in Winnipeg that had a great sense of their music and that always helps make the night even better.
These are my favourite things about the concert: staging, as it went perfectly with the tone of the concert. The music set was perfectly executed. The band took us on a journey. Their music sounded so good, just loved their sound. And most of all, I loved how they showed the audience that they were grateful for us. It was awesome!
First off, Lord Huron are a fantastic 5 star band with loads of talent evident in the beautiful, melodic music they create. The issue with the concert was primarily the sound. The band was on stage as a six piece + instrument grouping but the subtleties of their music was lost with the poor quality of the sound. This was the same issue on vocals for the first 3-4 songs; they were just drowned out by excessive background noise. The vocals did improve eventually but there were duets that simply didn’t come off at all because the sound was so poorly done. I know these songs through and through but there was so much you did not get in this concert due to the poor sound quality. I don’t know if it was a sound engineering issue, a decision to “go loud” at the expense of other aspects (melody, musical dexterity and subtlety), or poor quality sound equipment but this concert showcased a fraction of what this band has to offer, which is really too bad. Sound=1/5, Effort and stage presence 4.5/5, the songs and the chance to experience them live 5/5. They will never take it to the next level unless this improves as it was like looking at a Van Gogh through a pin hole.
Air conditioning on the 1st balcony (and presumably the 2nd) needs some help. Considering we were sitting down 80% of the time, it was a hot and sweaty mess.
Amazing set put on by Lord Huron. The venue needs to revamp their HVAC system. It was hotter than hot in there.
The Lord Huron concert was fantastic! Great band, great sound, great stage presentation. I would see the again tomorrow!
Love the band and the music. Traveled a long way to hear them. Wish the sound would have been mixed better. Vocals were buried in music. The venue has great acoustics and the overall sound could have been brought down to take advantage of the space. Very unbalanced
Lord Huron was fantastic as was the production. I would go to a different venue to see them again. We were on the first balcony and were so hot that I had symptoms of dehydration afterwards despite drinking water before the show and having no alcohol, and despite it only being 20 degrees outside. Also, our seats did not have enough leg room and I’m only 5’6. It was very uncomfortable.
Absolutely loved it. Such a treat of a lifetime to see them. Come back to Saskatoon please!!
I was a fan, but a much bigger one now. Their songs sounded even better live. Even if you just kinda like one of their songs, buy a ticket and you won’t be disappointed with the show.
I have never experienced anything like Lord Huron, especially live. There aren’t a good enough combination of words to describe how amazing they are
The sound was horrible, too loud and made my ears ring. It was like the speakers couldn’t handle the sound. Left after twenty minutes, torturous. Will not be going back to the Jube again.
Everything down to the stage and lights and sound were amazing. Ben and the band gave an amazing performance that kept me wanting to listen to more. Each member of the band played a variety of instruments that impressed me over and over again. I’d go watch them anytime they come back to Alberta. Thank you Lord Huron.
I attended the Lord Huron Concert in Calgary last Wednesday evening at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. For the opening act the sound was excellent, clear and loud enough. When Lord Huron started, they must have boosted the volume to the max. It was not even music - just noise. I thought that after the first song they would make adjustments to clear things up. I heard them in the same venue last year and they were very loud but clear and you could hear each instrument and every voice. However this year, the sound remained awful for the whole concert. It was difficult to even tell which song they were playing. I stuffed my ears with Kleenex and held my fingers in my ears and it was all I could bare. Very disappointing and the soundman should be fired. He probably had headphones on for the whole show and had a perfect mix in them. The sound was so bad I will never go hear them again. Please let them know that loud is fine but distortion and extreme volume are not necessary to provide a quality experience. I have heard some of the best bands in the world in hockey arenas and this was by far the worst!
Third time seeing this band and they don’t disappoint. Great musicians, and they look cool on stage (no sneakers or grungy t-shirts), for they’re a class act. Venue’s acoustics were fabulous.
Was such a perfect venue! Sound and vibe was amazing! Wish people stood up, I think a lot of people were waiting for others to stand haha, but other than that it was an amazing show!
Incredible. Great venue, phenomenal performance. I would absolutely see Lord Huron again.
