Great show! Loved the movie, loved the orchestra, loved the choirs. Constant goosebumps performance!
This is the third concert and movie with the NAC symphony orchestra that I have attended. It is always totally spectacular and amazing to be part of these great concert/movie experiences. Congratulations to the orchestra and the conductor for making this experience so special and memorable. The timing of the orchestra is perfect and I enjoy these performances so much. Keep doing them! Congratulations to all involved in this concert!
I just wish there will be more concerts likes this for the rest of the trilogy because this one was one og rhe most exciting events I have ever been in Ottawa.
A truly great experience, the venue seating and screen were better compared to my past experiences and hats off to the orchestra for being on point for three and a half hours.
This was my first time attending an "In Concert"series and wow! The orchestra was amazing, the choir and vocalists were so on point, and the conductor added a lively flare to his role. I'm so glad to have chosen LOTR: Fellowship to be my first experience with this type of show. 1000/10 will definitely be here for the Two Towers if/when they arrange it. The only complaint I have is with the venue's lack of space between rows of seats, as well as the dimly lit stairs leading up and down from the main floor. Those steps are hazardous enough with the lights on (no railings to hold onto) but when the upper seats are in the dark, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. The lack of space between rows is also quite hazardous for anyone who needs to temporarily leave during the performance.
The show was amazing and musicians were exceptional! But the venue (TD Place) was subpar (as usual). Seating was worse than in a theatre, my shoulders touched the shoulders of the stranger beside me, I had less leg room than on an airplane so we all needed to get up whenever someone needed to get to their seat, couldn’t stretch out my legs, and it must have been over 30 degrees in there - was sweating buckets while the heaters were on above the seats. I’m just an average sized person, and it felt very cramped. For the price paid, I expect a better venue, like the NAC. Also wish there weren’t French subtitles on the show.
The orchestra did a fantastic job! I loved it and I am not a mega LOTR fan. Purchased the tickets to celebrate with my husband who is the major fan. The venue though (TD place) went from comfortable to extremely warm within 20 min of starting. It was uncomfortable sitting there and I feel like it distracted a bit from the show itself. Otherwise everything went as expected. Amazing performance and a unique way to enjoy a classic.
If you like Lord of teh Rings you will be disappointed with this show. Too much singing..... grew tiresome quickly.
