Though still a teenager Lorde is swiftly establishing herself as a mighty force on the music scene, co-headlining shows with established acts like Vampire Weekend and Arctic Monkeys.
The young yet prolific New Zealand-born singer/songwriter, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, released her first EP The Love Club, her first No. 1 single "Royals", and her first album Pure Heroine back-to-back-to-back. Her sound is a sparse affair that confidently drifts on the strength of beats, loops, and phenomenal vocals.
The pop and alternative worlds don't always mix, but fans of both styles have flocked to Lorde's electropop-driven sound and soulful voice. And despite her pop successes she's managed to craft a bit of an anti-pop image for herself, not afraid to sound off with opinions - both good and bad - about fellow young stars. Fans who've bought tickets to see Lorde in concert rave about her raw talent while looking forward to watching her grow as an artist and performer.
Lorde was discovered when she was just 12, after her performance of the Duffy song "Warwick Avenue" at a school talent show caught the ear of a record label talent scout. When she's not writing music Lorde listens to pop, hip hop, and electronic music and cites soul legends like Otis Redding as well as modern acts like Bon Iver and James Blake among her influences.
She is one of my favorite artists. She was so good live and made me appreciate the solar power album that much more.
Lorde. She’s THE lorde, there’s not much else. she’s amazing, vibrant, and she sees all of the people in the room. Ive been to many artists concerts and none hade such a vibrant connection to the crowd as lorde.
AWESOME so cool she’s such a awesome singer I had so much fun she is so awesome
I’ve been to so many concerts at this point and no one can top lordes! every time I see her live it’s like I’m transported to heaven for 2 hours. genuinely so talented and kind
saw her for toronto night 2 and oh lord her vocals and stage presence were so good!!! also shoutout to the stage designers!! the sundial design for the sp tour was sick!!
sweetest person on the planet and soooooo good live i could not take it. even though I was sort of far away it was still amazing! 10/10 recommend.
i genuinely don’t know if anything can match the energy i experienced that night. if you have the chance, GO.
Lorde’s stage presence is amazing. She really knows how to put on a show and communicate with the audience so everyone feels a connection. my favourite concert so far!!
i’ve seen lorde preform twice, and do i ever recommend seeing her. the melodrama tour blew my mind, especially being the first concert i went to. lorde’s solar power tour was even more out of this world. the energy in the room where she preforms is absolutely CRAZY. the fans go wild, and you feel like you have hundreds of friends around you the whole time. lorde’s vocals are so powerful, and even better live. she will give you shivers down your spine. if you see her, you will not be disappointed. all the “cringy” videos of her online, do not do justice for her full live performances. 100% recommend seeing her <3
this concert was absolutely everything I didn’t know I needed but absolutely grateful to receive. as soon as I saw how close to the stage I would be I started shaking. the venue was DREAMY. lorde was all elegance, grace, and beauty. she is my FAVOURITE performer and artist. her stage presence and every detail in the show was PERFECTION. the crowd was amazing and so beautiful. I will cherish this night forever 🥲🤍
