    Good, not great

by K on 2019-09-25Jane Mallett Theatre at St Lawrence Centre - Toronto

I have to say that I was really excited for this experience, but once it started, I felt like it wasn't really what was advertised... or maybe I missed the memo? I thought she would be talking openly and candidly about her life with perhaps a moderator or interviewer to keep the flow. I didn't realize it was a one woman 'play'. I was left a little confused and underwhelmed because I know she's had such a fascinating life and I feel like this platform perhaps minimized that a bit and she was a sort of caricature of herself. All that being said, it was an honour to be in her presence and I think she's got an amazing story, I just think it would have been more powerful if wasn't presented in such a whimsical way.

    Wonderful

The only reason it wasn't a 5 star rating is because I sometimes had trouble hearing what she was saying .

Courageous and inspiring one person Act based on real life

by Maya on 2019-09-25Jane Mallett Theatre at St Lawrence Centre - Toronto

Loved to experience Margaret Trudeau’s personal and heart wrenching and yet funny and inspiring one person stage presence. Her effort of bringing awareness to mental health issues by talking about how that affected her own life, was more than successful. I highly recommend any conscious person to attend this show to learn that when life brings you down, you can get up again, even after suffering from a mental health issue and after the most painful loss, like losing one’s child.

    Maggie Tells her Truth

by SD on 2019-09-25Jane Mallett Theatre at St Lawrence Centre - Toronto

Having read a number of her books and also being “ of a certain age” , I’ve heard the stories before. But to hear them live was a real treat! For 90 minutes, Margaret Trudeau shares her truth . She tells her story with self deprecating humour and more than a few tears. She is a Canadian treasure!

I really enjoyed Margaret Trudeau’s show!!!

by Nella on 2019-09-24Jane Mallett Theatre at St Lawrence Centre - Toronto

To me the show was an honest, funny depiction of Margaret’s life. I knew a bit about Margaret Trudeau from TV and Newspapers but hearing her story was much more interesting. I give her credit for listening to what she really wants in life and not settling in a marriage. Happy she got diagnosed and able to live a better life. Felt Sorry for the loss of her son. She is a surviver and a strong women’s role model.

    Compelling!

by Rox on 2019-09-23Jane Mallett Theatre at St Lawrence Centre - Toronto

Margaret Trudeau delivered a captivating 90 minute entertaining, moving and brutally honest talk. She kept the audience engaged the whole time. She is no stranger to the public eye yet making eye contact during her presentation was a challenge - lights in her eyes perhaps or maybe frequently referring to notes on the podium? I have heard her talk a number of times at Mental Health presentations and book promotions. It is an honour to be in her presence! I sincerely adore her- she is an absolute delightful role model especially for women 'of an age'!
