About

Through his relentlessly punchy writing and expert delivery, Mark Normand is quickly becoming one of the most talked about comedians on the scene. He most recently self-released a one-hour special "Out To Lunch" on YouTube, which has quickly amassed over 2.4 million views. An extremely prolific stand-up, he previously had a one-hour and a half hour Comedy Central special and has made an unparalleled seven appearances on "Conan," three appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," and one appearance on both "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and "The Late Late Show with James Corden." Mark can also be heard on his multiple appearances on "The Joe Rogan Experience," dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld as the "best young up and coming comic," or on his own podcast "Tuesdays with Stories."

Born and raised in New Orleans, surprisingly to two normal parents, he spent most of his childhood making short films and wetting the bed.

    That’s Mark Normand Alright

by Comedy! on 2022-12-10The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

By the time the openers left the stage, Mark was on promptly with his trademark opening remarks. He went into jokes about Canada and Toronto, and peppered new material I hadn’t heard before throughout the set. A good portion of it were jokes and bits I’ve heard before, but know he’s likely rounding the end of of his tour and going through jokes that fit the progression of topics he’s rifling through as they become applicable, jumping from joke to joke, topic to topic with impeccable accuracy. Even the show itself was almost precisely one hour long to the second from when he hit the stage to when he said goodnight. I’ve sought out most of the clips from his shows online and know he’s been touring his routine since Covid, (I had tickets to the December show in 2021 which was postponed) so it came as no surprise that there was maybe 1/3 of the show that was new unheard material, but that in itself exceeded my expectations and the jokes-per-minute and timing in which he always delivers his material alone was more than worth the $50 something dollars. I was more than satisfied seeing him, as he’s a comedian I’ve admired for 5 or so years and it was great to see him doing his thing just as he always seems to do. I greatly look forward to seeing his new routine, and am very grateful to have heard some of the new material at this show I imagine will be in it. Thank you Mark for your dedication to your craft and developing and sharing your gift of quick-witted analogy with us all. Comedy, you really do it!

Mark was Amazing. A true technician of comedy.

by Denny on 2022-12-10The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Non stop laughs. Hes super quick. I was blown away by his talent. On an aside, his two openers were "meh" but who know who put them on stage. Luckily they werent on long. Then mark exploded on stage. My cheeks hurt!

    Okay

by Greg on 2022-10-13Algonquin Commons Theatre - Ottawa

I was annoyed the ticket said 7pm but doors only opened at 730 and the show started at 8. I'd prefer if things were a bit clearer. Also, entering the show there was no security beyond scanning tickets, which I felt was lazy. Anyone could have brought anything into the show with them. As for the show - it was a good show but I felt the hecklers were a bit much at the end. Mark did a decent job dealing with them. Didn't like the "ask the audience" portion at all and wish Mark had stuck to telling his own jokes instead of including the crowd. People yelling "Trudeau is a bum" and "Andrew Tate is a good guy" was annoying the say the least.

Even funnier than expected, was a thrill to hear a bunch of brilliant new content from Mark Normand. The openers were amazing as well, Chris Lock had us crying laughing. All-around a great time.

Fantastic! But line up beforehand sucked

by Rich B on 2022-10-10The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Mark was brilliant! and the opening comedians did a good job. The lineup outside was a bummer. Let people in! They might eat and drink a bit more even.
