About

Melissa Etheridge is one of rock music’s great female icons.  Her critically-acclaimed eponymous debut album was certified double-platinum.  Etheridge’s popularity built around such memorable songs as Bring Me Some Water,No Souvenirs and Ain't It Heavy for which she won her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Amfeaturing the massive hits I’m the Only One and Come to My Window, a searing song of longing that brought her a second Grammy.  The six times platinum album spent more than two and a half years on the album chart.  Etheridge is also an Oscar winner for Best Original Song in 2007.  In 2011 Melissa made her Broadway debut as St. Jimmy in Green Day’s rock opera, American Idiot, where she replaced Billie Joe Armstrong for one week, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Her most recent album, This Is M.E. was released on September 30, 2014.

  • Melissa Etheridge Blew Me Away

I have always been a fan of Melissa Etheridge but this was my first opportunity to see her in concert and she was better than I even expected. Melissa's voice is powerful, pure and bluesy at the same time. Even without a band behind her - her soulful songs filled the whole theatre - this was true of each song but Melissa sitting at the piano covering Joan Armatrading was especially moving. I was blown away and only dream I will have another opportunity to here this talented, amazing performer again - sometime soon.

This is the 7th time I've seen Melissa live and she just keeps getting better with age. Her voice is stronger and more powerful than ever. She played alone without a band...just herself, her guitar, piano, harmonica, and amoeba floor. She played for approximately two hours and 15 minutes and rocked the show from start to finish without missing a beat. She was funny, ever charming, and in short, she put on a simply amazing performance. Melissa, I always say, is one of those performers who must be seen live to be truly appreciated!

I've seen Melissa in concert before, but this time it was just her, her guitar and the piano. The sound was amazing. Her voice was unbelivable.
