We have attended a number of Military Tattoos and I doubt if we will be returning to any in the future. We have to be honest we left at intermission so we cannot judge the show later. We would have enjoyed more bands and less choirs.

    Somewhat amateurish

by BBMM on 2013-06-11Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

While I appreciate it was a volunteer production, the overall effect was rather boring. Historical reenactments with 3 people don't cut it! Several bands were quite good, but too many. We actually left after the intermission!

    Trainer

by Trainergal on 2013-06-11Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

As usual the Tattoo was great. We really enjoyed every minute. The only complaint was when the solo singer sang the first two songs accompanied by the piper she was overshadowed by the pipes. Her mike should have been turned up. The same goes for the military wives choir, their mikes should have been closer or turned up.

Great line-up. Would prefer more pipe bands and less church choirs.

    Military Tattoo

by Geraldthechef on 2013-06-10Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

It was good but not as good as last year. This year thy did not play anthems until the end and did not single out veterans for applause as thy did last year. Bit disappointed.

As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed the tattoo especially as it commemorated the War of 1812

    Great outing

by Familygetogether on 2012-06-25Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

The Canadian Military Tattoo was great. I was expecting more pipers. I attended at Ivor wynn and at Toronto many many years ago and remember there being many more pipe bands. The ones that attended were great. Asked a few of my scottish friends if they attended and they hadn't even heard of it, and they all live in the area. I couldn't believe it. I heard it on the radio, read it in the Spec and wait for it to come every year. I loved John McDermott, wish he could have sang a few more songs. The audience sang along with him, and I hope he didn't mind. We have decided to do this for as long as we can every summer and plan to add more family next year.

    Military Tattoo awesome event

    by Rusty69 on 2012-06-25Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Overall a wonderful performance! Bands and dancers were excellent. Added bits of history were a nice touch. Copps Coliseum was a great venue--comfortable and easy to find and parking was affordable and easy too. Only suggestion is more food variety would be appreciated next time. Pizza was good but not for everyone's taste.

    by Rusty69 on 2012-06-25Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

we enjoyed the tattoo emencely and were introduced to long forgotten memories of the war of 1812. the bands and other performances entertained and impressed the audience to several standing ovations. the crowd was average but not as large as the event warranted.

    Cdn. Internation Military Tattoo

    by Duncan12 on 2011-06-30Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

It was one of the best Tattoo's I have attended. All of the bands did an exceptional job. It was very emotional at the end when our soldiers who served in Afghanistan came out. We are certainly looking forward to next years.

Such a moving experience, it brought me to tears!

Everything about this event was wonderful - from the massed bands to the individual performers. There's nothing like the sounds of bagpipes to stir the emotions.

    Canadian International Military Tattoo 2011

    by Stoney1945 on 2011-06-29Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

We enjoyed it but not as much as in previous years. We go because we enjoy the Pipes but the only time they played was at the beginning when Marching in and at the end for the Finale. We would have liked to have seen each band perform separately as in previous years. It was nice to see that you gave the U.S. Bands their individual time to perform. I couldn't see where the group from Quebec had anything to do with a Military Tattoo. We will consider returning next year. We sat at the end of the Arena, on the side, but all the performing took place at the other end. Would have been nice to have them perform closer to where the majority sat.

    Hamilton Military Tattoo 2011

    by 1Bernice on 2011-06-29Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

I attended the Saturday evening performance of the Hamilton Tattoo. Being of Irish and Scottish decent I have attended several of the Tattoos over the years and knew I was in for an enjoyable evening but I was unprepared for just how exciting it would be this year. The talent, the precision and the dedication of all that participated went well beyond words. My heart didn't stop pounding in my chest for the entire 3 1/2 hours. All of the military bands showed not only pride in their performance but it was also very evident that they had great pride in their respective countries. The Highland and Irish dancers and the Mackinaw Folklorique Ensemble were especially entertaining. The talent was amazing especially considering the young age of some of the performers. Overall it made me proud of my heritage, proud to be a Hamiltonian and proud of my country, Canada.

    Canadian Military Tatoo

by LoveDoc on 2011-06-28Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Excellent entertainment! Full of fun surprises. Beautifully done - music and dancing! Marching bands were phenomenally talented! Irish dancers were so beautiful! It made me feel so proud to be Canadian. I feel such gratitude for all the men & women who serve for our country! Loved it when the commentator had all the men & women who have served and who are serving, to stand up at the end and be recognized! Awesome! Loved the versatility of the bands! Would have enjoyed seeing some of the challenging military tactics too. Could have done without the male singer. He was mediocre, although the messages behind the songs were very moving.

    Canadian International Military Tattoo 2011

by Cubagirl on 2011-06-28Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

The whole show was fabulous from start to finish. The young fiddle player was amazing and the mass bands were second to none. It was a wonderful 3 hour show and worth every penny of the admission price.

    Military Variety

by trainut on 2011-06-27Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

I liked the varity of acts. I would prefer to see the smaller skilled acts nearer to the audience. That way we would better appreciate the skills involved, eg dancing. Once again the unfortuneate soloist had to fight the pipes to be heard. Yes I understand pipes have little volume control! I still wonder why your cast busses get choice parking out front, while those of paying guests go seek? Seat comments: Unlike last year, i was able to get my seat on-line. Unfortuneately the "best choice available" would not have been my first choice. Some prefer being right in the action. I prefer being higher up, in order to take in the whole arena. I presume the US Marines formed a map of Australia, while playing Waltzing Matilda, but, from the fourth row, or the saluting stand, that is only a guess ! Would it be possible to add into your seat parameters a choice of say in front of or behind row 10?
