Wow! A terrifcally entertaining evening. Molly's band were amazing and Molly her herself was "on" in voice, dialogue and content! She is one of Canada's exceptional jazz and standards vocalist . A real credit to Toronto and to Canada.
As Molly said herself she has horrible stage presence. The band was great, however we seemed to be keeping Molly up, You would think that this small venue would be her bread and butter, however ! As they would say, been there done that.
The band was great and the venue is perfect for jazz.
Molly and the fantastic trio gave us a most enjoyable evening of music. The venue was very intimate and staff helped make it a comfortable "laid-back" night - just the right atmosphere for this music. Molly singing - Sister (Miss Celie's Blues) and Summertime was unforgettable.
Fabulous...with a great venue. Molly is a great singer with a wonderful rapport with the audience.
Molly knows how to use her distinctive voice to perpetuate the true character of timeless jazz classics. Her backup musicians were also super. I never get tired of listening to this kind of music.
Great venue! Parking, seats, atmosphere, loved it all. Molly and her band were fabulous. Really great to see them enjoying themselves on stage. What a voice!
The show started late, she had to read the words of her songs, she forgot words to her songs, and she had to get up the next day at 4:30 am!!!!! No energy put into this performance - felt like we were the dress rehearsal for her upcoming US dates. Hugely disappointing performance. Should have stayed home with one of her cds - would have been better entertainment value.
It was nice to get in out of the rain and settle back to be entertained by a sassy little girl with lots of talent and lots of attitude. The one song that I went to hear was performed and I loved it. She really seemed to appreciate her audience which was a nice touch. Way to go Canajuns!
Well attended and organised. Very pleasant staff at the entrance. Molly Johnston was very enjoyable but at times it was very hard to hear from our seats - at the right side of the stage near the back .
