a great mix of tragic compositions to let us know that nothing has changed. Shostokovich, Korngold excellent.
Shostokovitch, James Ehnes playing Korngold. Then Philip Glass. A wonderful evening.
Very inexpensive to enjoy live classical music! Excellent wheelchair accessibility.
All three pieces were performed magnificently - especially Wildwood. I'd bought a second ticket to the same concert by accident, and ended up going to see it anyway, just for that piece. The orchestra were full of passion and the conductor a force of nature on her platform. Thank you, NAC.
Found it not to be the level of expertise we expect from an NAC performance.
NAC Orchestra is amazing, the first violin is a show in itself, the director's joy is contagious and the choir and soloists are incredible
From entering the NAC to getting to my seat, all went smoothly. Thank you and well done. The team at the NAC were not only courteous but also friendly and even under the mask you could tell they were smiling.
We went to see Handel's Messiah and it was amazing! The music was excellent and professional and the choir perfect. The tenor, alto and soprano singers, sang beautifully. The whole evening was perfection. Thank-you
I loved the event. It was wonderful being back there after a 2+ year absence. The top notch performance was reflected in the continuous applause given by the audience. The only downside was not seeing the wind section of the orchestra. Other than that it was a performance like no other. I just hope there will be o restrictions against performances such as these in the future.
Great experience: great music, excellent customer service, loved it
The choir and orchestra were brilliant. This evening was a Christmas gift to my Mum. After almost two years of absence from a live venue, it was nothing short of awesome. The music, the beautiful new renovations, staff were upbeat, and the choir-beautiful
Brilliant rendition of Hansel’s Messiah. The orchestra and choir were breathtaking and the connection between the conductor and the soloists was heart warming. Ushers should not permit late arrivals to be seated during the performance- how disrespectful to the performers and the audience.
Handel's Messiah was absolutely fantastic! So amazing to be at the NAC finally after all these months! The orchestra, choir and soloists were spectacular! Such a blessing in these difficult times. Thank you to all!
A beautiful rendition faithful to the original modest vocal and instrumental forces.
Didn't go, last minute decision to stay at home. With a full venue, we didn't feel safe with the virus spreading at record numbers. Next day NAC announces seating limits will take effect that weekend. Oh well, maybe next year.
Orchestra, choir and soloists were outstanding. This was a wonderful performance. BUT NAC TOTALLY MISMANAGED PAYING FOR PARKING SO THAT ALTHOUGH THEY PROPERLY CHECKED VACCINE PROOF, THEY ENDED UP WITH A QUEUE OF 30 PLUS PEOPLE, CLOSELY PACKED TOGETHER BLOCKING THE BOTTOM OF THE ESCALATOR AND YOU HAD TO PUSH THROUGH THEM TO GET TO THE PARKING. THIS, AT A TIME WHEN CASES ARE SOARING. WE WON'T BE GOING AGAIN ANY TIME SOON.
It was wonderful to hear the NAC orchestra play beautiful Christmas music while watching the acrobats perform. The Orchestra was fantastic and the acrobatic performances were lovely to watch. The whole thing was mesmerizing.
Unexpectedly poor and short show. NAC orchestra was as good as usually. But the show was advertised as a Circus made by one of The Cirque Du Soleil participant. We went there with our daughter who is 7 yo. It was quite boring for her and for us. Very low level and primitive gymnastic, not spectacular staging at all. Second part is ridiculously short. Disappointed.
It was a spectacular performance, so suitable for the festive season. I was mesmerized that the NAC orchestra and the conductor could stay focused on the music aspect and not look up, over and above the stage as the brilliant Cirque artists dazzled the audience. So nice to be at the NAC again - my first time since the covid restrictions - AND among the many children viewers. Thank you and MERRY CHRISTMAS
I will definitely be listening to the NAC Orchestra more often - they did a fantastic job at the Holiday Cirque over the weekend. I loved every minute of it!
