    Nathan Really Is For You!

by RaisinDoctorIsUnderrated on 2017-09-17The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I entered with high expectations and left with my expectations being exceeded beyond what I could have possibly imagined! Somehow, even though Nathan made the crowd of 1000 people wait 1.5 hours for the show to start, he built that into his routine and no one seemed to care (although, maybe next time you can make it 30 mins and it'll probably still have the same effect)! Hopefully he comes back to Toronto now that it's been made clear that people will pay to see him (most, if not all, of his shows have sold out). I wish he would've done more Q&A, but I don't think he likes answering questions all that much (he seems to prefer to be the one asking questions). Nathan kindly signed my sign of signs after the show (the fine print said that by signing it, he was agreeing to be my friend!) and even his signature was funny (he just scribbled "Nathan" and let out a bit of a snicker while doing so)! He shook my hand and my wife's hand, which was also very nice of him. I wanted to make a fist just before he went to shake to make it awkward, but I chickened out at the last second. I'll get him next time! He wasn't offering any merchandise for sale at the show, which was a bit of a disappointment. For such a smart businessman, he seemed to have dropped the ball on that one! Just kidding, I'm sure there was a good reason for it. I wish we were allowed to take pictures, but he wanted to avoid spoilers. I just wish he would have recorded all of the Q&A and other bits from each show for release later. I haven't laughed so hard in my entire life. Seeing and meeting Nathan was definitely a top 10 highlight of my whole life (like right up there with with my wedding day, my children being born, seeing Muse in concert, my first ever house league hockey game, and getting The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Christmas when I was a kid!). Nathan recently did an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine and said of Season 5: "I need to feel like there's a reason to do one... It needs to feel organic.". Here are a few reasons, Nathan: 1. I will literally cry if you don't (I haven't cried in 18 years)... and my tears are organic, 2. You owe it to your fans (you don't, but I was so upset when I read that line, that I started thinking of schemes to persuade you to keep the show going (e.g. starting a campaign to get your hundreds of thousands of fans to all give you $20 each, which would give you millions of dollars!), 3. The world needs you. Personally, you have made my life better. WAY better. I'm sure you've done the same for many, many other people, 4. If you stop, there won't be anymore sneak peak shows, which would add insult to injury! Your humour is like nothing I've ever seen before! Please x 999.99 (repeating, of course) continue making the show! TL;DR - if you get the chance to see Nathan, DO IT! If you're somehow disappointed, track me down and I will give you five dollars. Nathan: I'm sorry for tricking you into being my friend (pic attached). It's hard to make friends in this post-Pearl Harbor world, so I decided to take the easy route ("No Regrets", as Kyle from Teen Street would say). Also, thank you for calling that guy out on his improper usage of the microphone during the Q&A!

    Best Comedy Show Ever

by TheTeacher on 2017-09-12The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The genius of Nathan Fielder's comedy was in full force on Friday night at the Danforth Music Hall. The hall was full of true fans, the excitement was palpable. The two episodes Nathan previewed were genius and hilarious. Best night out in a loooong time. Can't wait for the season to start.

Nathan is so great at improv

by kcjn on 2017-09-11The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I've seen Nathan's Sneak Peek twice now, both times was basically the same layout but different venues/preview episodes/Q&A audience members. The second girl he brought up for the Q&A was sooo drunk and so embarrassing it was honestly painful to watch. Everyone in the audience was cringing hard. Nathan tried his absolute best to resurrect the situation and improv his way out of it but the girl would NOT stop talking over him. Totally not his fault and I commend him to sticking it out with her because I would have told her to leave. (She was awkwardly coming onto him while she was there with her ex-bf it was bizarre). The new season looks so good, totally recommend watching every season.
