the Show was top notch as was expected for a Disney Production. The Cast was amazing with both voices and humour.
Casting, costumes and set design were perfection. Seamless set changes, perfect pitch voices and detailed, elaborate set and costuming made this production a feast - was proud to be a guest!
This was my youngest daughters first experience at the jubilee auditorium. We went with great anticipation and expectations and we were not disappointed. Just watching my daughter experience this amazing performance is a lasting memory we will share for the rest of lives. It took us back to a time when she was a little girl when we watched the Disney movie for the very first time. We even went home and watched the movie and together and we laughed and sang and smiled. I would recommend this play to all ages.
Took my 11 year old niece and we both loved it,,, good special effects,,
Beauty and the Beast, was wonderful! Very well done, great music and performers. I just wish I would have been closer to the stage, as the experience would have been even better, had I been able to see the actors expressions on their faces. I thought the production was a pretty good sound level, at times it was tough to hear the actors over the laughter. Maybe having a louder sound system would have helped that. Overall this was a great event for the whole family!
The show was awesome! Belle and Gaston were the highlights. The music, dancing and acting were really good. It is worth while seeing this show and brings back wonderful childhood memories. A great blend for adults and children to enjoy.
When the tickets came up for sale I decided to purchase 2 - as my friend and myself like to attend theatre productions. We weren't particularly excited to see it - since it is based on fairy tale - maybe something more for kids. Boy - were we pleasantly surprised. The beautiful set, choreography, depiction of characters, and of course the music! was absolutely incredible.
So I really enjoyed Beauty and the Beast but it was not visually jaw dropping the way The Lion King was so I was slightly disappointed. B&B musical numbers especially could have been much more visually entertaining then they were but great acting and what changes that were made away from the movie made sense and worked well.
First time seeing a Broadway show, took my mom because she also had never seen one and Beauty and The Beast is her favorite Disney Show. WOW! What an amazing experience, cannot wait for my next Disney Broadway show.. Lion king this summer for sure!! For the first time in so long I felt no need to look at my phone, the actors had my full attention the whole time!
Our seats were fantastic, the actors have an amazing stage presence, and the props were very well done. The production value was everything I had hoped for and more!
I took my 8 year old and 5 year old to this musical, and we all loved it. My five year old loved Lefou, she laughed at everything he did. My only complaint would be, I found the sexual exchanges between Lumiere and Babette a little inappropriate for a childrens show. And highly unnecessary. But other then that it was amazing, I would recommend it to everyone.
This show was even better than I expected. The singing was amazing and the added humor was a bonus. Would definitely see this again.
Beauty and the Beast was amazing. My favourite musical production so far!
Overall the show was good. The performance was good and the actors & actresses had amazing voices. Disappointed in the music selection. There are so many great songs in the movie that could have been used.
I took my 3 teenage children and we all enjoyed it. The story and the music were of course very familiar to us as it is a Disney classic but seeing it as a live production changes it up. We all loved the clanging of the glasses to the music in the bar scene and of course "BE our Guest" is the highlight of the show. My 13 year old son had to watch the video of VHS the next morning to compare and decided it was just about exactly the same. Going to any Disney production it would be hard to find a complaint with the show.
Overall it was ok . The good moments Gaston and Lumiere at some points. The Bad. It is need of updating. As for the actors the guy playing beast seemed to be miscast as they kept saying what a big monster he was and he was the same height as Belle. Mrs Potts accent was so fake that it got it was distracting. They felt the need to tinker with stuff that I think took away from the production. Many moments of general sillyness by the cast wrecked it . I know it's aimed at kids as well but the movie didn't have so much overacting and kids liked it fine. Also the sexual undertones I think were inappropriate especially since there was so many children present . Why they felt the need to have Lumiere grinding against the maid so much is beyond me. They could have been more subtle and still made their point. Also the decision to make beast dumb and have him on more than one occasion squeal like a little school girl was stupid and just took away from the story.
Great music, dance and costumes. Each character fit their role very well.
It was wonderful. My niece & I really enjoyed ourselves. We did find that the stage was very dark, making it difficult to see, especially from the second level.
Beauty and the Beast was amazing. I saw it in Toronto about 17 years ago and this show was every bit as good. Glad I went.
I have seen the Beauty and the Beast show at Disneyworld and this show was just as good, if not better! I really enjoyed the performance. The actors/dancers were awesome! The sets were great.
