Dutch-born Nicky Romero, a.k.a. Nick Rotteveel Van Gotum, got his start as a musician playing the drums. At age 15 he swapped his drum kit for turntables and began dabbling in DJing and production. His early tracks and bootleg productions began to garner attention in the late '00s, and in 2010 his underground hit "My Friend" became a staple in the sets of big names like Tiesto and Fredde le Grande. It was a quick rise to the top of the charts from there -- in 2012 his track "Toulouse" was a Top 10 hit on Beatport, and in 2013 he topped the UK singles chart with the smash hit "I Could Be the One". In addition to his solo releases he has played at top clubs around the world, produced tracks for superstars like Britney Spears and Rihanna, and placed at No. 7 on DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs poll.
