    Amazing... best musical ever

    by M. J. on 2022-12-13

I saw the show in Quebec City this fall and it was incredible. Although my comprehension of the French language is not great it didn't matter. The music, the dancing and the sets were so amazing it was still the best musical i have ever seen. Highly recommended. A world class production.

Show was Great, but sound was awfull

by J. C. on 2022-08-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

We were in section amphithéâtre. We all knew the soundtrack by heart and the play, so that helped. If not, younger generation, could not hear to words to songs at all. Hope NAC upgrades their sound system

    Notre Dame de Paris

by Jane on 2022-08-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Four of us sitting in a balcony. The show was spectacular. The music was loud but we couldn’t hear the words to the songs… disappointed!

    Goose bumps!!

by SusieQ on 2022-08-10National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

That was our first reaction as the performance started....my daughter turned and said "I have goose bumps". That feeling stayed with us throughout the entire show. I will no doubt want to go see Notre Dame de Paris again, as I did with Phantom of the Opera! So much talent on one stage, just incredible.

    Bon

by Guy on 2022-08-10National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

    An amazing extravaganza of talent!

by A Pakenham Fan on 2022-08-09National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

It isn't often that a show exceeds your expectations but Notre Dame de Paris definitely did that! I already knew and loved the music but was blown away by the creativity and deceptive simplicity of the set along with the superb acrobats clambering all over it. More often than not they did not even have safety harnesses. Meanwhile the singing and music kept the dramatic tension at a fever pitch. And Daniel Lavoie, my teenage crush growing up in Montreal and unbelievably now 73, held his own both vocally and commandingly whenever he was in stage. It was an absolute delight from start to finish! It was performed in French this time, which was a bit harder for my friends who were with me as they didn't understand what was being sung. Despite that it is so stylized and "big" that it was fairly easy for them to follow. If you ever get a chance, don't hesitate. We'll worth the price!
