About

Nurse Blake (born Blake Lynch) is a touring comedian, creator and licensed nurse who’s worked in level one trauma centers since graduating from nursing school in 2013. To cope with the stress of nursing school, Blake began posting comedic videos on Facebook and sharing his experience. From his first viral sketch, 2017’s “The Scrub Romper,” to 2019’s “New Nurses Be Like…,” Blake has amassed over 3.5 million followers — including frontline workers and RNs who connected with his relatable sketches — across social media. In 2013, Blake launched Banned4Life to end the FDA’s ban on gay and bisexual blood donations, which contributed to lifting the lifetime ban in 2015. Following his nationwide PTO Comedy Tour, which sold over 120,000 tickets, Nurse Blake was dubbed a "genuine phenomenon" by The New York Times in 2022. He is also the author of the bestselling children's book I Want To Be A NURSE When I Grow Up.

    So funny

by Natalie on 2023-09-15L'Olympia - Montreal

I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard aboutie job… EVER!!! Let’s face it, nurse life is hard, and if you can find someone who gets it and can make you laugh about the stuff that few others understand, amazing! It certainly lightened the heaviness of it all!

    Fantastic night out

by Marty on 2023-09-14FirstOntario Concert Hall - Hamilton

I love going to this venue as it gives everyone a great view. Nurse Blake was hilarious from the moment he stepped on the stage. He engaged with the crowd early in his show and kept it up throughout. Nurses are a different breed and Nurse Blake is one of us. He knows how to make us laugh. I had such a fun night and I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

    It was okay

by Alex on 2023-09-14FirstOntario Concert Hall - Hamilton

Blake incorporated a LOT of sexual jokes I would say. Mostly roasting different nurses. Not much else nurse/medical comedy. Not similar to his skit videos at all. Raunchy, sexual jokes and making fun of specialties. My nurse friend and I wouldnt buy a ticket again.

Not the Blake I came to see

by BlakeFan on 2023-09-14National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I'm sorry to say, that I was confused by the show. Loved the venue and the experience, but the show was disappointing and not what I expected. I've absolutely loved all of nurse Blake's videos and content, and thought the show was going to be more relatable in that respect and focused on the intricacies and nuances of being a nurse, that only nurses could poke fun of and relate to. Unfortunately it was 20% this, which was funny, and 80% of Blake talking about his traumatic childhood and the most crude gay jokes that seemed never ending. We all know he is gay and that is perfectly fine, but the jokes were never ending and very crass. They just weren't funny, and those of us that were there, although we don't want to discourage Blake (because his material is mostly so funny), we were left feeling sorry for him as he seems to be going through a rough time. I think he tried...but should have stuck to the humour that made us all fall in love with him.

Expecting to laugh more. Would have preferred not to hear about his personal life.
