Paid for the VIP experience which allowed us to enter at 4pm, the pre show party was standing near a concession stand that only served drinks. We had to ask to sit on concrete stairs nearby. At the last minute before the soundcheck ‘which was 3 songs played for us, another group showed up that had won tickets from a radio contest. Our package included going on stage however it was without meeting the band members. The radio station people proceeded to go and hang out with the band and we went back to the concrete party area. We then received access to buy merch. Just t-shirts and hoodies. After this we went back to the concrete party area for more drinks. We convinced the liaison to allow us to leave for food as most people assumed there would be food available at the pre show party. After some messaging we were allowed a reentry. We came back and were allowed to enter the floor to take our spots at the barricade before the show and this made it much more worth it. The opening band, lower dens, was a lackluster low energy opener. However Of Monsters and Men put on an amazing show, they sounded ground, were interactive. All in all a great experience I just wanted to express that for an extra 300$~ a ticket the first 4 hrs of pre show experience were not entirely worth it. I blame this entirely on thunderbirds arena in Vancouver not being equipped for such a package.
