  • Great venue

by Alex on 2019-10-01UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Doug Mitchell Thunderbird stadium was small and wasn’t overcrowded. It also had a great parking area right beside it, and there were still lots of spaces left. It was a long drive out to UBC but well worth it. There was also a great standing area at the end of the rink that directly faced the stage and it was just a fantastic area to dance and see the band play.

  • Great Energy

Great blend of songs from their albums. Fantastic concert.

  • Vocals were beautiful live!!

by A potato flew around my room on 2019-10-01UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Their vocals live offered new clarity and detail you can’t get off the recordings, their energy, and not to mention the nostalgia factor of the songs from their first album made this a magical evening. Pure joy seeing them perform

  • Omam is amazing

by Mitch on 2019-10-01UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Paid for the VIP experience which allowed us to enter at 4pm, the pre show party was standing near a concession stand that only served drinks. We had to ask to sit on concrete stairs nearby. At the last minute before the soundcheck ‘which was 3 songs played for us, another group showed up that had won tickets from a radio contest. Our package included going on stage however it was without meeting the band members. The radio station people proceeded to go and hang out with the band and we went back to the concrete party area. We then received access to buy merch. Just t-shirts and hoodies. After this we went back to the concrete party area for more drinks. We convinced the liaison to allow us to leave for food as most people assumed there would be food available at the pre show party. After some messaging we were allowed a reentry. We came back and were allowed to enter the floor to take our spots at the barricade before the show and this made it much more worth it. The opening band, lower dens, was a lackluster low energy opener. However Of Monsters and Men put on an amazing show, they sounded ground, were interactive. All in all a great experience I just wanted to express that for an extra 300$~ a ticket the first 4 hrs of pre show experience were not entirely worth it. I blame this entirely on thunderbirds arena in Vancouver not being equipped for such a package.

  • Band? YAY. Venue? nay.

by E.V on 2019-10-01UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Not sure if the stage was moved up or if I paid to watch the show through speakers, poles and cables (if so woulda loved a heads up). The section wasn't even fully uncovered by black sheeting when we located our seats. Not to mention the incessant echo after every beat, during every song...

Beautiful show! They sounded fantastic! I have always wanted to see them perform live, and they didn’t disappoint. They played a perfect mix of old and new stuff.

  • Love the band, not the venue

by MSG on 2019-10-01UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

OMAM are one of my favourite bands, I bought tickets right away and was looking forward to the show for months. My husband and I were both disappointed in the venue. It was our first show at the Dougie and we live in Burnaby so it was a bit of a drive for us (farther than downtown for sure). We were super disappointed by the atmosphere at the venue. No one stands, everyone was seated and quiet... it was bizarre. I’ve never been to a concert like that before. Being the polite Canadians that we are, we didn’t want to stand in front of someone so we ended up going to the back standing section to watch the show from there.

  • Great concert

by Mike on 2019-09-15Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Opening band could have and should have stayed home. On the other hand OMAM performed an amazing concert. Mixed their hits with new music very well and made for one enjoyable evening.

  • Enjoyable show

by Canadian Gal on 2019-09-14Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I like this band. Enjoy their music. I find sometimes with concerts the sound check is not thorough or the person running the soundboard is not experienced you should be able to clearly hear the vocals and we didn’t. We were in row K so not far back. And I’ve been to other shows at this venue and the sounds been better . The opening act we could hardly hear vocals at all. Also there were some stage lights that shot right out into the crowd almost blinding me so for part of the show I couldn’t really look at the stage much. Someone better experienced with lighting is definitely needed. I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and never had that problem before.
