Pan Am Games - Diving - medal round

by Barbara154 on 2015-07-14PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

Both men's and women's events were incredible to watch. It was really great that the big screen was off during the live dive and then used to show the dive in replay. Helped give a better appreciation of the judges marks.

    Terrible seating assignment

by JoeLuis on 2015-07-14PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

I bought my tickets on October 7th, 2014; nine months before the event. I was told that buying the pre-sale would guarantee me preferred seats. But when I went to the event... my seats were on the opposite side of the pool, very far away from the divers. Very disappointing, we had to look for other seats closer... and they were many !

    Too many empty seats!

by Littlebitcountry on 2015-07-14PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

The diving was incredible (men's 3 meter springboard and women's 10 meter medal). Irritating that I was not able to agree to my seats before purchase. I bought them in January and found out 3 weeks before the event that they were terrible - so far back in the shallow end that I couldn't even see the big screen properly because I was beside it and so high that a speaker hanging from the ceiling blocked my view of the divers on 10 meter. I would have never bought these seats! The fact that there were LOADS of good seats on the opposite side of the pool, behind the cameras of course, was really infuriating.

This was an exciting event, but the diving from the 10m tower made my hands sweat!

Athletes' skill and prowess were amazing. Venue is gorgeous. Transportation was fast and efficient. Too bad tickets - purchased in Sept 2014 - were awful. How did Ticketmaster "manage" seat allocation?

    Love Diving!

by TenFedHCS on 2015-07-14PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

Diving was fantastic and run very efficiently. The new venue is beautiful and was easy to get to. The judges marks were very prompt. The only downfall was it was over too soon. This was a preliminary event and was one hour long. Because there were only 8 women entered in the 10 metre platform event, they all moved in to the finals, which was a bit anti-climatic. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Diving into the Pan Am Games!

by Leasidegal on 2015-07-13PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

I really enjoyed the Men's Diving event. It was really well organized with a very large visible screen showing instant replays and slo-mo replays as well as the results which were easy to follow. They also explained how the scoring was done. The PA system worked very well and was very clear. The diving was amazing and I was very proud of our 2 Canadians who moved on to the final. The Aquatics Centre is very impressive and in a very nice location. Transportation was efficient and frequent.

    Girls Make a Splash!

by KannibalKrunch on 2015-07-13PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

Was at the preliminary diving this past Friday (July 10). Was amazing to see the girls dive off the topmost platform. I am always amazed how end up facing forward when entering the water! I've attached my picture of Roseline.

Ignorance is not Bliss in diving

by TheSButterfly on 2015-07-13PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

I was very interested in the women's diving competition and immediately sought out to see them on July 10. Knowing literally NOTHING about the sport, I was hopeful the organizers would enhance the experience by showing the audience on the giant LCD screens perhaps some bullet points as to the way judges decide to choose a good dive from a not good dive, also the method by which they score (take away top 2 marks and 2 worst marks for a combined total). What makes a dive more difficult and how are the girls judged equitably based on both? Regardless, the facility was stunning but there was a lot of ignorance on the part of the volunteers too with regards to the events to come (didn't know if it was over when it was over or not) and there was little National pride (why no anthem?). Overall, disappointing and not well executed.

The TTC deserves a high 5 for helping me get there every step of the way and free. The event itself was good but shorter than I expected. There was no one to help with finding seats and I sat in the wrong one for the first part which was not as good as my real seat. The venue was good but the black speakers hung down partially obstructing the view and they were not very clear at the end of the day.

    Beautiful facility

by LeChat33 on 2015-07-13PAC-CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House - Toronto

The new aquatics centre was beautiful. Volunteers were happy and helpful. Women's prelim diving was a very cool experience. It was quite warm in there. Our seats were high up but in line with the diving boards so great seats. We parked on a side street off Military Trail and walked to venue however transit was readily available if necessary
