About

"From Genesis drummer and eventual frontman to one of the most influential adult contemporary solo artists of all time, Phil Collins has enjoyed more than four decades of rock success. The London native may have started out as a child actor and model, but his move to music in the late 1960s proved more lucrative.

For five years, Collins served as drummer for prog-rock mainstay Genesis, eventually transitioning to singer after the 1975 departure of Peter Gabriel. Collins not only juggled his Genesis days with jazz fusion outfit Brand X, but he also simultaneously nurtured a solo career, beginning in 1981 with “Face Value” and the instant hit single “In the Air Tonight.”

Among tours with both bands, Collins managed to release 13 straight Top 10 hits between 1984 and 1990 as a solo artist, including ‘80s staples like “Easy Lover,” “Sussudio,” “A Groovy Kind of Love” and “Another Day in Paradise.” The multiple award winner was tapped to write and perform the songs for Disney’s 1999 animated film, “Tarzan,” as well as 2003’s “Brother Bear.”

Collins’ most recent collection of new material, “Testify,” surfaced in 2002 and preceded his “First Final Farewell Tour.” He and the Genesis crew, minus Gabriel, joined forces in 2007 for a reunion run. Rumor has it the big-ticket act is considering another get-together in 2014."

    Montreal November 2021

    by EAHyslop on 2021-11-27

Travelled from New Brunswick and paid over $200 for seats 6 rows from the roof. Left after 90 minutes. I’m sorry he’s I’ll and isn’t capable of standing through a concert. I loved Phil Collins and it was a dream to finally be able to get to see him. But the concert was a total disappointment and now the memory isn’t off wicked good music but of a frail elderly man riding the coattails of nostalgia.

    Yep, he's still not dead!

Age 67, bum leg, and performs for 2 hours and 24 minutes non stop. What a show! Drove down from Winnipeg with my son, so he could watch Phil and his son, Nick, perform on stage together. Crowd stood from the first song to the last. Great energy and included some Genesis hits as well.

    Great night for Phil

by Pat M on 2019-10-04Little Caesars Arena - Detroit

I have been a Phil fan back to the Genesis days and was expecting a great show... but to be honest when I saw him struggle out with a cane and sit in a chair I was immediately struck by how frail he looked and concerned about his ability to get through a show! My concerns were overcome about two songs in when the old Phil sense of humour returned and he easily got everyone’s attention with his talent! The set was fantastic and the band so good and energetic that it more than made up for Phil’s health issues! As the tee shirt says... i’m Not dead yet!!!!!! The added bonus of a duet with his son Nicholas was simply heart wrenching!!! Buy a ticket and take someone with you that you really care about! You won’t regret it!! This guy is still a superstar!

    Memory of a lifetime!

It's hard to express how awsome this concert was. From the moment Phil entered the stage to the moment he exited the stage he performed the whole time. Phil and his band are amazing! Phil's son on the drums definitely takes after his dad with his drumming skills, he is so talented.

finally got to see Phil Collins live! He was fantastic. His voice is as strong as ever! His 17 yr old son Nicholas plays drums for this show and does an impressive job for a young age! So much talent! Loved the show! Happy there were lots of big screens to enjoy close up views!

Travelled from Canada to the US just to see my favourite artist. Put on a spectacular show even though he sat the whole way through. My heart was full

This show was immotional for my son and I. He grew up listening to Phil and Genesis and for both of us his music is the soundtrack of our lives. My family had a great time and can't wait to see him again.

    Subtly amazing

by aintlifeamazing on 2018-10-21Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Imagine going to a show to see one of musics top artists and then to see that artist humbly limping on stage with a cane. Then to see that same amazing person blow the roof of the building with a performance for the ages--which included his 17 year old son as drummer!!! The NOT DEAD YET show proved that the ol' rocker can still bring the audience to its feet, especially with "In the air tonight" and Sussudio. I was so mesmerized by this show not only by the performance by Mr Collins but by his animated backup vocalists and the band. A show I am glad my bride and I had the privilege of attending!!
