everything was astonishingly matched together.I consider him as a minimalist pianist and the salon was kind of modern and simple in a way too. He has an amazing characteristic which reminds me of his simple but complicated pieces.

by Tallbro on 2010-04-06Chan Centre For The Performing Arts - VancouverWhat an amazing man. I remember hearing his music throughout the 80's and he always intrigued me. As it had been a long time since I've heard anything from Mr. Glass, I was surprised to see that he was going to perform at the Chan. Well I knew that I had to go as the Chan is such an excellent venue for the performing arts. Although I didn't know what to expect, immediately when Mr. Glass sat at his piano I heard his sound and style and was thrown into his magical world. I knew at that moment that I had made a great decision to partake and witness this man's genius. It's obvious his life is music and I wish that I could thank him in person for coming back to Vancouver and sharing his talent with this sold-out crowd. It was such an amazing experience to hear him speak and listen to him play the piano live. Thank you Philip Glass!
Rating: 5 out of 5 An honour to witness Philip Glass
by Glassfan on 2010-04-06Chan Centre For The Performing Arts - VancouverIt was an honour to listen and watch Philip Glass play his own compositions last night at the Chan in Vancouver. The simplicity and brilliance of the solo piano, his personal introductions to each piece highlighted the genius and gentle dignity of this master composer and pianist. It felt as though he had invited us in to his home to listen to a few pieces he'd written over the years. He truly is one of the master artists of our time. What a magnificent evening and what a brilliant career. Bravo! Thank you, Philip Glass.
