    Blast from the past

by JenVic on 2012-03-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

After 26 years, these guys still got it! Even if only 2 of the 4 were the original members (Mark and Sergio), they were rocking out the old tunes as if it was 1986; just a little older and not blond anymore. lol. Had so much fun singing their songs.

I took my hubby for his birthday. He was a big fan in his teens, I was more of a bubble gum pop type so I didnt really know the band well and was just along for the ride. Totally Amazing! The whole room was on there feet dancing and the music was awesome. I may not have been a fan then but I am now. looking forward the the 2012 album!!!

If you are a part of the Platinum Blonde fan club.

by RedRobinsonRegular on 2012-03-12Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

You probably enjoyed the concert immensely. The sound, while a bit loud for the older ears in the crowd, was good, and the guys can hit all the notes. They recreated the hits, and threw in some new ones as well. Overall a good concert. The only issue was they seem to forget they're...well...older. The posing and prancing really just looks funny now. Stick to the music. They talked about a new "world tour" launching a new album. Well, i hope it works out for you....

    Blast from the past

by KittyL on 2012-03-12Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

When i found out pb was coming to town i knew i had to go. my only chance to see them before was when they cancelled their tour after the Contact album came out. it's been a long wait! It was worth the wait. it was a high energy, low theatrics show-all about the music, vocals, and performers. Mark engaged the audience and hasn't slowed down! Played all the faves and added some great new songs from an upcoming album. Really liked "Valentine" especially. Afterwards they were out to sign stuff for the fans. So amazing.

They Are Platinum Blonde...And They Are Back

by Gunner4Life on 2012-03-12Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

Now I know why I loved Platinum way back when, they rock! Yes as hard as Guns N' Roses. I found myself singing along to every song, though I hadn't heard them in twenty-five years, and was very happy to hear about their reunion and new album (yes, a new Platinum Blonde album after how long?), the songs I heard were very good and the show was amazing. Lucky fans get another chance to see this wonderful band, who truly are a national treasure to Canada when they go on their world tour this summer, I may even see them again myself. Though we may have lost Kenny McLean (RIP), Mark Holmes and his partner in crime 'til the end of time (his exact words for Sergio Galli, an excellent guitarist). Also loved the Les Paul/Marshall Amp sound.

My girlfriends and I had a great time! It was s little odd to do new music/song as an encore tho. They redeemed themselves with Crying over you however!! Heehee

    Great Concert

by Spatch on 2012-03-12Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

If you are an erstwhile fan of the band from the 80s, you will not be disappointed in seeing them play today. A solid hour and a half set, including a three-song encore was well worth the ticket price. Classy to the end, they even held an autograph session after the show, where the band signed my ticket stub. All in all, a terrific evening.

    Platinum Blonde Totally Rocked

by SmoothOperator on 2012-01-17Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

As soon as Platinum Blonde went on stage, I knew that they were going to be simply awesome. From their stage presence all the way to the amount of energy they put out, I was totally blown away. I grew up listening to Platinum Blonde and let me tell you it was well worth the 25 years that I waited to see them. If they come to Calgary again I will definitely go and see them. Rock on....

    Platinum Blonde is Back!!

by husbandandwife on 2012-01-16McPhillips Station Casino - Winnipeg

Went to the concert to relive some memories from the 80's and ended up creating some new ones! The band played all their past hits and played some stuff that will be on a new album, and the new stuff sounded really good! Can't wait to hear the whole thing and I look forward to seeing the band again!

Standing in the Dark-well more like sitting

    by JVR1 on 2012-01-16Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

I'll pretend that the show didn't happen at a Casino conference room, and I'll pretend that the seating arrangement didn't exist. That said, Platinum Blonde delivered. Mark Holmes sounded the way he did when I first saw them in 1984. He hit notes I really didn't think he would be capable of hitting.Sergio Gali did some incredible guitar work. The rest of the band was decent. The energy of the crowd was great and would have been better if everyone was up dancing and singing the songs. They're new songs didn't impress, but Valentine had a catchy hook. Overall great show from the band....the venue could have been better.
