Wonderful week of curling with my sister. Venue is great. Crowd? Not so much but it is early in the season. The only issue was the 8:00 PM draws, not understanding why it wasn't 6:00 PM accross the board. That's the only issue I have.

  • Good fun, world class.

The variety of teams was a joy. The sudden death feature exciting. We were expecting a larger crowd. My friend had not seen any adverting of the event in Edmonton and I only picked up on it from a forwarded facebook post. Would attend a similar event again.

This was my wife and my first experience at a live curling event. We have always wanted to go to one, and this did not disappoint. We were excited to see the world class curlers and they did amazing and showed us some spectacular shot making. What I was disappointed in was the attendance at the event. There was not a lot of people there. All I can say was, great job Curling Canada and hopefully we will see you at more events!

  • Great intro to curling season.

Entertaining sudden death format. Some surprise winners. Every draw has had drama and at least one surprise out come. Venue is terrific with good nearby hotels. Decent food available with fast service.

  • Terrible experience .

My wife and I attended the tournament in Fredericton. The difference between the two was like night and day. Last year's event was alive, full of atmosphere, electric and full of spectators. This year's event had none of this. In fact for the Friday nite session it looked like there were more people in on freebies than paying spectators. One of the big differences between the 2 events was that last year the sponser was a local curling club who provided tons of volunteers. This year it was the City of Oakville who did not seem to provide any.

The curling as usual was fantastic, Very disappointed the stands weren’t full. The curlers feed off the energy of the fans..and that was missing. I was told that sponsors bought up bulk tickets and gave them away, but those that received them are not curling enthusiasts, thus did not show any interest in attending. None of my family in the area were aware of the event. Low security compared to previous events attended. Goldline booth staff..fantastic . Call centre to pick up tickets..great. 50/50..what a fiasco that was…get your license early and sell tickets on site…fans get excited and buy more than if they have to scan a QR code and do on their phone. And eateries….need to do better, better selection….go back to Tim’s….Muskoka Brewery doesn’t cut it ! And the patch was horrible…even though there was a window…couldn’t see the ice as blocked by pillars and crowds leaning over railing. Definitely could use improvement. I’ve been to quite a few events over the years and this was disappointing..even to those watching on TV.

  • Curling is back.

The event was well run. The location is awesome. My husband uses a walker and the access was great. There was a snack booth with pizza, hot dogs and other items. All the food was fresh and delicious. There is a restaurant there as well. We have eaten there in the past and the food was delicious and well priced. The access to the athletes is good as well. I saw many of the athletes making themselves available for photos and autographs. It was also nice to seeDavid Murdoch there. My biggest problem is attendance. It is so sad that the attendance is so low. Perhaps more promotion of the event, I don't really know. Maybe it is due to the fact that most of us are not curling yet. I do not know how to something.

The event was great! But so surprised that so few attended. There was no crowd to cheer on the best curlers of Canada. It was up close and personal with so many curlers. Great time.
