POMEROY IN CONCERT:

Beloved Kansas City funk and hip hop collective Pomeroy thrilled fans in 2015 with news that they were reuniting for their first live performances in more than five years. The band is known for their boisterous, genre-spanning concerts, and even though it’s been a while since they’ve graced the stage, their live shows remain legendary among longtime fans. The group’s jam-heavy brand of funk rock is at its most potent in concert, and they always get fans dancing with their snaking basslines, rapid-fire rhymes, and infectious onstage energy. Whether they’re playing fan favorite “The Beat Goes On” or inspiring serious moving and shaking with “She’s Dangerous", Pomeroy always treats ticket buyers to a boogie-worthy concert experience anchored in first-rate musicianship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Pomeroy formed in Manhattan, KS in 1997 and won the Kansas State University battle of the bands the following year. They released their debut album Inside the Shine in 1999 and spent the next several years playing various college towns throughout the Midwest. Their funky live shows and popular albums like 2003’s Identity earned them a strong regional fanbase, and in 2005 they captured their onstage energy with the concert album Live at the Blue Note. In 2007 they released the album A New Reflection and gained heavy airplay with the single “The Beat Goes On”, but by 2009 they had lost several members and stopped performing. The classic Pomeroy lineup reunited briefly in 2010 for a show at Kansas City’s Beaumont Club, but the next five years were quiet. In 2015 Pomeroy announced a string of summer reunion performances, generating major excitement among fans waiting for another chance to see them in action.
