About

Founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995, the Pussycat Dolls began as a burlesque dance revue based in Los Angeles, spawned a second revue in Las Vegas, grew into an A-list phenomena with a revolving cast of guest celebrities, and eventually became a recording act with a number one dance hit. It wasn't long after launching its revue that the troupe began attracting actresses and models who wanted to become a Pussycat Doll for a night. Christina Aguilera, Pamela Anderson, Kelly Osbourne, Pink, Britney Spears, Carmen Electra, and Gwen Stefani are just some of the names who donned lingerie and pinup costumes and joined the Dolls for their flirtatious shows. An appearance in the 2003 film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle was followed by numerous television appearances, most with Carmen Electra. Capitalizing on the nationwide attention and the addition of former Eden's Crush member Nicole Scherzinger as lead singer, the single "Don't Cha" with special guest Busta Rhymes appeared at the beginning of 2005 and climbed to number two on the pop chart, number one on the dance chart. With help from the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am and producer Timbaland, the Pussycat Dolls recorded their full-length debut. The A&M label released PCD, a Top Ten hit, in the summer of 2005. In 2008 member Carmit Bachar left to pursue a solo career while the Interscope label announced that a solo album from Scherzinger was being put on hold after four teaser singles failed to climb the charts. Continuing on as a five-piece, the Dolls released both the single "When I Grow Up" and the album Doll Domination that same year. "When I Grow Up" reached the Top Ten in 16 countries. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi

    Really Disapointing

by tickledrainbow on 2011-06-20River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

For one the fact that they use the pop group in the promotion is misleading. We figured we weren't seeing the real dolls and we were right. What we were upset about was the show started late (8:15ish) and ended around 9:30 -with an opening act!! If I am going to go out for a night and pay for a show I would hope the main show lasted more than hour!! they did maybe 4 routines with a full cast of 7 people. The part they did was decent but needed a whole lot more for the money we spent!!!

Sorry but the show was a big rip-off...show started at 8:10pm with an opening singer..until 8:45pm, Burlesque didn't even start until maybe around 8:55pm, and then the show ended at 9:27pm? UM!

Poor performance preparation. late show up - 1 hour late. short time - 30 mins performance. low quality, fake and feels like a warm up exercise. Looks like Carmen Electra certainly shouldn't perform at the show at her age.

    Don't waste your money!

by Buzbar on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Opening act was supposed to have 8 members, 3 were there. Granted he was a great singer and thank goodness because Warren Dean Flandez made that somewhat worth my money! The Pussy Cat Dolls had poor quality video presentation, not HD, picture froze up. The show was 40 min long, this included the introduction speach! Tickets cost $80!!!! Not what we were expecting. What seemed to be a brief intermission....the curtains closed and on came the video clip again, poor quality! We thought that they must have been setting up the stage for something good....hmm, 3 chairs were on the stage! Now not to disregard the talented women in the show, they were beautiful, talented, and well choreographed, great singers, and Carmen Electra worked the crowed well. Not worth the money. Maybe $40. But not $80.

    Too short!!

by bigfan123 on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

The show itself was good, but they were only on stage for maybe 15 minutes. However, the small amount time that they were on stage was good, but it was way too short. How do you justify paying for a ticket for 15 minutes of a show.

    Don't blink - you'll miss it!

by Breanna27 on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino - Richmond

I didn't really know what to expect - I saw a Burlesque show in Las Vegas and thought it would be similar. Not. The show started at 8pm - a local singing act came on for about half an hour. Didn't know them...and didn't know the songs either. They sang about 5 songs...(4 songs too many) Then the girls came on...(Not the Pussycat dolls singing group....other girls) and they danced the same dances for 55 mins...just in different costumes, and it was over. Carmen Electra was on stage for a total of about 15 mins. I couldn't believe I just paid $150 for 2 seats for 55 mins of boring entertainment.

    Waste

by Teddy101 on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I guess its because it wasn't what I expected it to be. I thought that it would be the singing group Pussycat Dolls. But it was just a short little burlesque show. Keyword Short. Maybe an hour if that. Carmen Electra came out for one number, shaking her booty in a bathtub. 5 minutes. Good lookin though. Rest of the show was the same through out. Definately nothing special, short (did I mention that) and at times boring. Whats her face (the one who invented Pussycat Dolls) came out and talked more that Carmen was on stage. She definately thinks quite highly of herself. Save your money, watch a video. You'll get more pleasure out of it.

Pussycat Dolls Revue not worth it

by adamsdelicious on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Girls were great dancers but the show lasted a mere 40 mins and hour if you want to include opening act and some video slideshows.

    Overpriced!!!

by Anonymous on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

This burlesque revue started off great, they had a local talent as the opening act.. Did 4 songs took about 20 minutes... Then the show started, it started off great the dancers were awesome the music was good etc. Everything to this point was good. But here's the bad part....the show only lasted 25 minutes!! We got there at 8pm, and the opening act didn't start until 830.... And we were out in the lobby shows over exactly at 9:28....I looked because it felt so short!! Definitely not worth the money. Venue and seating was top notch, show would get 1 star from me based on the shortness!

Not worth the price of the tickets!

by HairyLulu on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Wished someone would have warned us the main show is less than 40 minutes. The Dolls were entertaining and really great, but with a $70 price tag we felt ripped off.

    Pussy Cat Dolls Lame!

by mmichiela on 2011-06-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

What a wasted opportunity! They've got the girls, they've got the songs, they've got the moves, they've got the hype! Why on earth would they have put together such a mediocre show? From intro to finish, 28 minutes. That's $2.50 per minute, in the 'cheap' seats. Minimal staging, minimal props, felt like high school. The last gasp of a serious sensation, before quietly slinking off to die...
