Venue
This is a family tradition. We always enjoy our time. Love the beautiful horses. Yet I noticed the pageantry was missing. It seemed more like an American perspective than Canadian organization. We do have a new King. I don't even recall the God save the King hymn. Let's show more honor next year please.
A pleasant day at the races that we enjoyed. A few comments would be that we couldn't get a sit down meal at the restaurant without a reservation, even though there were quite a few open tables. I have never seen an event so well staffed, possibly over-staffed. There were people at the top and bottom of every escalator that were simply standing doing absolutely nothing. Several escalators out of service throughout the day and the fencing used to cordon off areas left only single file entrance and exit for two-way foot traffic. As well the fencing had bulking footings that posed a tripping hazard as it infringed 50% of the opening between the wall and the fence. We received good service at the food court although there were members of staff complaining that they were going to be late getting back to work because they'd been in line so long. Every staff member we spoke to were very nice. All in all, only those few minor issues in what was a really good day.
Had such a good time at the King’s Plate. Loved the personalized style sketch. Everything seemed very well organized, staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Didn’t win any money, but would definitely go again after having such a positive experience.
This my first king plate but my 38 over all this year was awesome never seen this race track at its best before great job to all going forward
The event was not nearly as good as the previous plate races.
The queens plate used to be a much better event. We went before Covid and there were food trucks, tons of drink reps offering samples and a concert afterwards. This year was fine, fun to dress up and bet on races but nothing special. This is much less of an event now.
Lines too long need a better approach and staff missed two races getting drinks unacceptable
A great day at the races, so well organized, so much to do, fashion , fun, Woodbine knows how to host a first class event, and at a reasonable price.
Last years kings plate was much better. Hope next year is like the last queens plate.
It was indeed a pleasure to be present for the Kingsplate at Woodbine Race Track .The last Kingsplate took place on the very same year I was born(1951) so this Kingsplate will be very memorable for me and my sister who was also on holidays from Trinidad.It can be called "historical"in a way since this was the 1st Kingsplate for any attendee who was born 1951 and forward.Thanks!
