Who thought they still had it?

by midlsis on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

I have waited about 30 years to see Burton Cummings perform, and I wasn't disappointed. He still has an amazing voice, and had some very funny stories to tell as well. An overall great concert. Randy Bachman can play the guitar as well as any young artist out there. I would recomment their concert to anyone again.

    Relivin' the Day!

    by TattooFaye1 on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

I went with my sister-in-law and had a fabulous time, singing to all the songs. When their American Woman album (yes album!) came out in the early 70's, I heard it for the first time at a pyjama party which was for my birthday. We all loved the songs and this concert just brought back all those memories! I enjoyed the banter on stage. It was a real 'feel good' concert.

    Bachman & Cummings delivered.

    by lfry2000 on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

After the great set done by Booker T. Backman and Cummings came on stage and delivered an great show. Burton looked like he was having the time of his life playing the songs that he must have played thousands of times before. The pace of the concert started at a very high level with "Runnin back to Saskatoon" and never let up. A great event.

    Bachman Cummings Band

by GEddy on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

These guys are still the most talented pair in Canadian rock. When you back them up with this country's best classic rock band, the Carpet Frogs from ON, ... WOW! Neither Burton or Randy have lost a thing and still the best out there. Two hours of outstanding classic Canadian rock. My favourite concert since the last time I saw them in 2007.

    Bachman Cummings rocked!!!!

by isledancer on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

Watching these amazing performers was like being transported back to the good ole days of great music and fun times. Their voices, still strong, brought people to their feet almost instantly as tunes from Guess Who days filled the Rexall. They really connected with the audience.

    Better than ever

by tufftruckr on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

Burton and Bachman have been practicing since the seventies. The concert was great, The only problem was the drop down lighting and large screen monitors at the side of the stage that obscured dome of the concert. Rock Solid Concert

Bachman Cummings - a good thing gets better!

by heavyevvy on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

I happened to be in Edmonton on business in June and wanted to do something to treat myself for my birthday. I decided to go to the Bachman Cummings concert at Rexall Place and boy am I glad I went! I had more fun there than many other concerts I have been to over the past 40 years. Those guys played a rockin' great set, and I loved tapping my toes along with so many classic tunes. It's great to see that Randy and Burton have put their differences behind them and are playing together again. They make a great musical team. They wrote so many great tunes, so many hits...who knows what other great songs they might have come up with had they not split up. I was awed with Burton's singing -- he can still belt it out AND croon a tune like nobody else. Randy's powerful guitar playing left many younger guitar players in the dust! The BTO tunes rounded out the set nicely. The audience was really into the whole trip down memory lane. It was a wonderful experience to be there to share a moment of Canadian rock history - past and present! Happy Birthday, me!!

    Bachman Cummings was FABULOUS!

by DebandPete on 2009-07-16Rexall Place - Edmonton

We loved the entire show! Cummings can still hit the notes and Bachman should be proud of what he wrote and how he plays! Every song was right on and both my husband and I were singing out loud, word for word!

    Bachman Cummings Comeback

by Lamme on 2009-07-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

Wow, what a comeback! I wasn't too sure what to expect but Bachman and Cummings proved to us they can still rock the crowd. You bet I want to see them again if the opportunity comes by.

Bachman Cummings could have been amazing!

by CoachB on 2009-07-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

Our seats were terrible. We were willing to pay for decent seats but were informed these were the best we could get. We could not see the screens and we were so far to the side that we could not hear the speakers. There were rows of empty seats closer to the center so we asked the usher if we could move and she said we could but that, if someone came, we would have to leave those seats. We moved and then the concert became everything we hoped it would be. Fortunately we did not have to move so we were able to enjoy the music the way we had expected to. Many of the songs took us back to our youth and the entire audience sang along on several.

Bachman and Cummings rock it out!

by sjljajnj on 2009-07-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

After a quiet (no lyrics) opening act, it was great to get rocking with the familiar songs of The Guess Who, BTO, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings! They had amazing energy and even joked a bit here and there about their "history". Having grown up with their music around the house, my husband and I are both second generation fans, and had the time of our life in the third row belting it out among the old timers! Great show guys!!

As always these two guys and their fellow performers give out the best prairie rock and roll! Us oldies and our teenage son thoroughly enjoy their music - and to see it live AGAIN is fantastic!

    Deeska

by Deeska on 2009-07-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

We felt honored to have witnessed a couple of talented, rich, and ordinary dressed Canadians. We didn't have to endure 6 costume changes. We were in the 3rd row so our view was amazing. Brought back many memories and everytime I here one of their songs now on the radio they bring on a whole new meaning again even at 53. Rock on Randy and Burton and band you are truly legends and can still brng on a tear or two!!

Randy & Burton - pretty cool duo

    by Andrea50 on 2009-07-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

This would have been a great concert if the sound was good. It was muffled and hard to sit through at Rexall in Edmonton. I grew up listening to them and to wait this long to see them for the first time was disappointing. But they do look pretty good and they still rock. Come back to a smaller venue where I know we can have better sound.

    Classics done well

by Rambler on 2009-07-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

If any knows(and who doesn't) and loves these guys, this was a great concert to see. It was really great how they set up yhe songs. It gave more meaning to the material. They play a lot of theGuess Who and BTO on Fremont St. in Vegas. The crowds go wild. I'm sure most Americians don't know that we are Canadians. I had an Lp released by Coca-Cola in the late 60's called the Wild Pair. One side was the Stacattos(which became the Five-Man Electric Band) and the other side was the Guess Who. They were great even back then.
