Very very enjoyable show! Theband was exceptional, Randy sang non stop. If you get a Chance go to this show!
truly a legend in Western music with a long list of tremendous songs. had a fabulous back up band stayed afterwards for shaking hands and giving out autographs
Thought Randy sang wonderfully - show wasn't bad on the whole - but our complaint was with regards to it only being 1.5 hours - and then the last 5 minutes he shook hands and signed autographs while on stage. We didn't pay $90 ea to watch Randy sign autographs!!! Saw Willy Nelson for $45 each and he sang for 2 hours straight - awesome show!
Enjoyed listening to a great artist and all his great songs. Back up band was to loud which made it sometimes difficult to hear his voice. Could be the venue (Spirit Centre, Westlock,Ab.) so I wouldn't recommend attending a concert there. Ticket price for what we attended was disappointing.
My self and my girlfriends found this an awesome and unforgettable evening!!!!
The show was great. The seating left something to be desired. It was uncomfortalbe and you had to get a crick in your neck from watching the jumbo trons. I think there is a great need to inmprove the seating. I would like to see just chairs and no booze. Otherwise people are up and down. There was no room in the ailes for people to walk back and forth. Otherwise I did enjoy the show. The sould was good and you could hear the words to the songs.
Seven of us went together and each one of us felt the same: what a fantastic concert! Wish it could have lasted another hour.
I really enjoyed Randy. His band is great. It was like hearing him on his discs the quality was that good. The minus is that the setup had rows of people lined up forty deep right behind each other. I think it was to aid in selling alcohol.
We went to see Randy Travis the last time he came through this area. He played the River Cree Casino near Edmonton a couple of years ago and I was very disappointed in the whole performance. This time was much, much better. Randy needed to warm up a little more before the show as he was having trouble hitting some of the notes, but by the third song was in true form. We clapped and sang thorugh the whole show.
The first opener was not someone I'd recommend...can't even remember who they were. Brett Kissell was impressive. Never heard of him (I follow rock) until that night & was measurably impressed. Randy puts on a great show as always & is most personable. Kissell & Travis got the crowd involved & kept them involved.
Great song, loved it. It has a great beat and a wonderful message.
Randy Travis has been singing for 25 years. He sang all of his hits. The building was good,
This was a wonderful show - Randy Travis still has the pipes even after 25 years - he did some new songs which were really good. Good seats and good view of the stage.
Randy is good but you can tell he is tired and not really into the show as much as he was about 4 or 5 years ago when we say him. Sometimes it sounded like he couldn't either remember the words of the songs or he was too tired to finish the last few sentences of the song. His voice was strong sometimes, but most times it seemed to be a real struggle for hm to complete the concert. We would not go back to one of his concerts.
I enjoyed Randy Travis very much. His music, singing and the musicians were great and my only problem there was that toward the end of the program, the instruments became so loud I couldn't make out the words to his new song.
Randy Travis was, as always, charming, polished, talented and engaging. His personality sets the tone but his amazing talent and versatility carried the concert. And those musicians with him....such a treat. Proof that we can get better with age. What pleasure he has provided to audiences throughout his career. What hard work he puts in to look effortless!
Not a great show but this is country and he is a 'laid back' kind of guy so its slow and sweet. He did almost 2 hours with no break and did not move around much, pretty well sat or leaned on a stool center stage for 99% of the show. Could have done more of his old hits, that's what people come to hear but all these guys are trying to push some new album and we got some of that in this show. No encore, he had something he had to take care of, so the MC said. All in all 3 out of 5 stars and I wouldn't go back to see him again.
I see a lot of live entertainment but this tops my list for quality over many years of going. I did think that one lead in entertainer (Brett Kissle) would have been adequate, as using two made it very late before Randy finished and people were leaving just because it made the program so long and it was nearly time to go to work.
Randy Travis put on a great show, with his opening acts being so great too We really enjoyed Randy and would go see him again
Randy was in fine form and his band was amazing. Would definitely go to another concert of his
