    RAY PRICE

by jacbill on 2010-06-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

SIMPLY SPECTACULAR THAT AN OCTOGENARIAN CAN STILL HIT ALL THE NOTES AS WELL AS HE DID 30, 40 OR 50 YEARS AGO. STILL A POWERFUL, CLEAR VOICE, BACKED BY A PROFESSIONAL, NEATLY ATTIRED, 11-PIECE BAND THAT PLAYED WITH SUCH FINESSE. IT WAS SUCH A TREAT TO LISTEN TO ALL THE OLD SONGS WITHOUT BEING BLASTED OUT OF YOUR SEAT. THIS WAS TRUE "COUNTRY" MUSIC AT ITS BEST. FOUR VIOLINS AND A CELLO REALLY EMPHASIZED THE FACT THAT, EVEN MORE THAN THAT, THIS WAS RAY PRICE. WE OUR SO FORTUNATE TO STILL BE ENJOYING HIS MUSIC AND HIS PRESENCE AMONG US.

    Voice was still strong

by wildrose on 2010-06-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys real country music to go & see any of these singers as their music isn't going to be around forever. I grew up listening to the Grand O Opry on the radio & just enjoy all the old time country & Ray Price was one of my favorites. He still puts on a good show not quite long enough but still enjoyed every minute of it.

    Ray Price

by CatFan on 2010-06-14Casino Rama - Orillia

Ray wasn't feeling too well but it didn't seem to effect his singing voice. Really enjoyed the show although it may have been cut short due to his "cold" or allergies. A real classy guy!

    Ray Price

by Milena on 2010-06-14Casino Rama - Orillia

The show was fantastic....brought back some great memories listening to him sing those songs. The orchestra was a wonderful addition to his singing. Wish the concert would have been longer though

    Ray Price was fabulous!!!

by Comedyrules on 2010-06-13Casino Rama - Orillia

I was dumbfounded that a performer 84 Years old, and with an allergy problem this night, could sound as great as he did. I expected to enjoy the show, but was utterly amazed, how rich and strong his voice still is. Ray Price ROCKS !

    Ray Price worth the Price

    by munchkin777 on 2010-06-13Casino Rama - Orillia

Ray Price at his age still has what it takes. He still has a mellow voice and still is a crowd pleaser. The audience as well as myself was thrilled with his performance. He had a 22 piece band with him (violins, horns, etc.). The special treat was that his son, Cliff, opened up with 1 song before his dad (Ray Price) began his concert. I would go again to see him if he came back to casino rama.

    The Right Price

by Winger on 2010-06-13Casino Rama - Orillia

This man is a master musician. I had previously seen him perform at another venue. At Rama he had the benefit of an added string and brass section. It was totally different show. He came on early and stayed on stage for most of the show. He not only sang his country hits but also some pop ballads.

Ray Price has still got it!!

by Muskokajim on 2010-06-13Casino Rama - Orillia

I was very impressed with the strength and rich quality of Ray's voice even though he is well past 80. It was a pleasure to hear some of the songs which he made famous. I did think the show was a little short. There were three or four songs from his various CD's that I was hoping to hear. All in all though a fine performance and the back-up instrumentalists were excellent.

I saw Ray Price open for Willie Nelson in 2008. He was amazing. This time around; not so good. The show was good and he can still sing well however, his total performance was 1 hour, including the encore. There was no opening act. I drove 1.5 hours each way to see a 60 minute show. On top of that, he was selling T-shirts (with the american flag!!), for $40 and cd's for $30! Ray Price went from my Hero to someone who is just selling out for a quick buck.

In spite of suffering from allergy problems , he performed flawlessly with his top-rated band The Cherokee Cowboys.Ray Price is the best entertainer ever and I am hoping you will book him again next year at Casino Rama. The performance was spell-binding for me. Ray Price is my hero and I adore and respect the man.

    Short Show

by hardwatr on 2010-06-13Casino Rama - Orillia

We drove 90 minutes to Rama to see RP last night expecting about a 2 hour show. He was on stage for about an hour. No real warm up act. Show started at 9 and ended at 10. He brought along a 21 piece band. Real tight band. Great sound. We enjoyed what we heard. 90% of audience were seniors. Dude and his wife behind us sang each and every song as though they were in the shower (I guess they don't get out much). Saw RP with Willie Nelson at Massey Hall last year. The set last night at Rama was almost the exact same set at Massey. But at Massey it was ok because RP was the warmup act and we expected him to play a short set. Last night we hoped for, but didn't get more. Enjoyed the show despite the sing-along behind us, but it was far too short for the effort invested in getting to Rama and back again. If we had known it was going to be that short, probably wouldn't have bothered to go.

    Not Worth It

by Bocephus on 2010-06-13Casino Rama - Orillia

At 84yr of age Ray Price still sings unbelieveably well. His show was very good but was only one hour and five minutes long leaving us feeling short-changed. It wasn't worth the price or the 1 1/2hr drive to get there. If he has difficulty performing any longer he should hire an opening act to give the paying customer more value for their money.
