great concert, excellent musicianship, great venue

by Anonymous on 2009-10-16The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Three great performances, Carolina Liar was excellent and One Republic was outstanding. The lead singer for One Republic - Ryan Teddes was amazing, what a great talent. Rob Thomas was not only personable and a great performer, but his natural talent and song writing skills were unmatched. It was a great venue for this concert and therefore it was a shame that they had the music too loud as it detracted from the overal excellence of show.

    Rob Thomas rocked!!

by Pipp on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

WOW. What a show. We paid $75 for 4 hours of AWESOME entertainment. All 3 acts were really good!! And they complimented each other so well. My only complaint would be the VERY LOUD bass. Next time i'll bring earplugs. All in all it was definitely worth the time and money.

Rob Thomas just gets better with age!

by rtfan on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

This guy doesn't need fancy light shows, or big stage sets... he is amazing just standing up there with his band and his music... everyone was on their feet immediately!

    Rob Thomas is unreal

by rodeb on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The man gets better with age. He doesn't have an attitude and is really down to earth. Some of his shpeil needs updating, but is still fun to hear. His music and voice have matured to make him a long time staple in the music industry. He is truly a very talented individual, who knows how to write songs that speak to people of all ages.

    Rob Thomas outstanding!

by JorMac on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Best concert we have been to in years! Rob Thomas' versatile rock and ballad style and comfortable stage presence entralled us all for two hours. He has a wonderful ability to move us with lyrics worth listening to and a voice that conveys emotion so well. Great band with amazing guitar and percussion. Back-up vocals were sometimes a bit startling, but overall worked well. The audience was mixed from young to old and we all enjoyed it immensely. OneRepublic was a huge bonus - Ryan Tedder has an alternately sweet and powerful vocal style that is arresting and comes off well. Liked the new single "All the Right Moves" Carolina Liar has real potential, but would be better for lowering the bass and focussing a bit more on the vocals, to expand from their one hit.

    Sucked!

by AH1974 on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Did hardly any Matchbox 20 stuff like Unwell, 3am, If You're Gone, real world, and Bent. Did Smooth, but wass acoustic and w/o Santana, of course, so not as good! A few rockin songs, but could've been better

Rob Thomas & Guests didn't disappoint

by LeeBee on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

A big THANK YOU to Rob Thomas for an awesome evening of entertainment. The first act, Carolina Liar, is a fabulous up-and-coming act with great showmanship. Thank you Rob for including them in your line up. They really got the crowd into it and were a tight, entertaining band. One Republic's vocal prowess and quality musicianship got the crowd more revved up for the Feature Presentation. Their version of 'Shout' was excellent! From the opening note to the final encore, Rob Thomas was a joy to watch and listen to. His vocals - flawless, His band - tight & in the pocket, His back up singers - amazing ladies! The acoustic version of 'Smooth' was definitely a hi-light, quite unexpected yet thoroughly enjoyable - One Republic's guitar player did a stand up job! And last but not least - the venue. The Ford Center is a great location to enjoy a concert. The staff were courteous & helpful (just wish I was allowed to dance in the aisle).

    ROB Thomas sang to me!!!!!!

by amandag on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Rob Thomas is always a great performer, and seeing him in person is great, because he sings his songs with passion and really appreciates music. Also, I love it when he tells a short personal story, before he sings. It makes you feel like you know him and can relate or just feel good about life. That is the main reason why I love him soo much. He has a really good perspective on life and love. The concert was great! I would definately see him again. preferably closer to him though.

Rob Thomas is an amazing talent and an incredible song writer. His set lasted a little over 2 hours and he had the crowd pumped from the moment he walked onto the stage. Congratulations to him on such a successful solo career as well as with Matchbox 20

    <sigh> Rob Thomas

by McGregor on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Rob Thomas and his opening guests were fantastic. The sound quality at 'The Centre' was outstanding and Rob is just the most passionate performer. My one complaint is that there was a 45 minute gap between the 2nd opening act (OneRepublic which were also fabulous) and the main event. This mellowed the crowd. Will see Rob everytime he's in town.

    Rob Thomas was amazing

by sd57 on 2009-10-15The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Rob has the most amazing voice. Some people can sing and others have a gift that puts them in another category, Rob is in the other category. I hope he continues to keep Vancouver on his tour list. Thanks Rob for the great show, we love you.
