    Rain sucked. Awesome shows

by Frank the tank on 2023-06-24Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

Great rock festival awesome bands and vibe. The rain sucked but organizers did their best. Was super disappointed saga and April wine didn’t play on the Sunday but shout out to streetheart and teaze for doing the acoustical set with no drums inside. That was a cool experience. Some ideas to make the second one better….. a big shade/rain tent for all weather types anchored for extreme wind with big concrete blocks. A stage with grating to allow water to flow below. Perhaps removable mats if it rains…so the water can flow through grating underneath and not cause safety issues and also waterproof sound equipment…..we came to rock rain or shine like it says on website. Maybe you guys could set it up so the bands can play rain or shine also… a couple more choices in food trucks would be cool also. Rock the lake in Kelowna is more of a mature rock festival so maybe go to that and steal some ideas???? Anyways overall was an awesome experience and the scrambled back up plan worked but could have been better with all bands attending.

    OK

by Dan on 2023-06-22Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

Poor communication. Understanding this event unfortunately was held during a very rainy weekend it was disappointing that on the last day they decided to take the bands indoors at Rogers Place however, did not notify through email but only on Instagram. Not a lot of this demographic are users of Instagram. Additionally, only one version of a band played on Sunday rather than the 4 planned. Very disappointed as I took my dad on Fathers day and this is his genre of music. Not even a apology or credit back, just excuses. EOG, you did a poor job! Consider your plan B next time or stick with your explanation of this being a "rain or shine event" as per your fine print.

    Rock the District

by Classic Rock Fan on 2023-06-22Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

Excellent choice of bands. Great music despite the not so great weather. Too bad Sunday was rained out but good idea to hold it in Rogers Place. Might suggest just having it indoors in the future…was definitely more comfortable inside. Disappointed that April Wine didn’t do an acoustic set. Not sure why they just showed for autographs. Out of all the bands they would have been able to play songs acoustically. Streetheart did a stellar acoustic set!! All in all a wonderful weekend. If you keep getting classic rock bands like the lineup you had, people will come!!

    Great time

by Jean on 2023-06-21Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

We were happy with the line-up of music and how things were on time. Everything ran smoothly with entering and exiting the facility. Frustrated with the lack of communication when the music was moved indoors, something could have been sent out via social media or e-mail. Also disappointed that 2 bands didn’t perform when moved indoors especially when it was emphasized the concert was rain or shine and no refunds. Overall really enjoyed the concert and the weather was unfortunate but still a great time and will probably do again.

    Great event!

by RocheM on 2023-06-21Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

Despite the rain, which was out of anyone’s control, this was an amazing event! It was very well organized, with the entertainment starting on time and seamless transitions between sets. Sound quality was top notch. I loved the venue because it was small enough to be a more intimate experience, yet large enough for everyone to spread out a bit and not be crowded. On Sunday, I was very impressed with the organization of the indoor acoustic acts when it was clear the show could not safely go outside in the torrential downpour. That was an excellent experience itself that made this 3-day show that much better. The selection of merch was really good and reasonably priced. The smoked food (e.g. brisket) was really delicious, however, I did hear there was a long wait for food for most people. More food stands or trucks would be a great idea. Since many people were there for 7+ hours on the Saturday, they needed to eat. That would be my only recommendation. The band line-up was excellent. I’d go back and do it again with the exact same acts. It was that good. A very fun and unique experience over all.

    Good Show

by G$ on 2023-06-21Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

Good show but on Sunday the event was moved indoors because of heavy rain. That's understandable but Ticketmaster or the event holder could have texted or emailed us of the changes because no one knew thyat the event was moved indoors or who was performing or anything.

    Fun

by M on 2023-06-21Fan Park at ICE District - Edmonton

Was a great event. Only downfall was April Wine not even attempting to play and just doing autographs just so they could be paid for “showing” up
