About

Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White first rose to fame as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon, but now as a chart-topping Grammy-nominated comedian and a feature film actor, Ron White has established himself as a star in his own right. White has always been a classic storyteller. His stories relay tales from his real life, ranging from growing up in a small town in Texas to sharing stories of his daily life to becoming one of the most successful comedians in America. He has sold over 14 million albums (solo and with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour), been nominated for two Grammys, and has consistently been one of the top grossing stand up comedians on tour in America.

Ron White began performing comedy in 1986 and was quickly opening for legendary comedians Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy. While eventually making the rounds as a comedy club headliner, in 2000, White was asked to join the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. The show toured for over three years to sold-out audiences in over 270 cities and grossed more than $35 million. In 2003, Warner Brothers filmed the show, Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie for a theatrical/TV/DVD/CD release. The film premiered as the most-watched movie in Comedy Central's history. In 2005, the video Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again was filmed and released on TV and DVD/CD.

In November of 2003, White released his breakthrough comedy CD Drunk In Public followed by his first one-hour TV comedy special They Call Me Tater Salad. The special had the highest viewership for a Sunday program in Comedy Central history. The DVD version reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. White's second one-hour special You Can't Fix Stupid aired on Comedy Central to 4.5 million viewers, making it the third largest audience in Comedy Central's history and the #1 show on primetime basic cable. The CD reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts and remained there for 9 consecutive weeks. This success also earned White his first Grammy nomination. Ron received his second Grammy nod for the show Blue Collar Comedy Tour - One for The Road. In June 2006, Penguin Books released Ron's first book Ron "Tater Salad" White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability, which landed him on the New York Times Best Seller List. In 2009, Ron released his 3rd album Behavioral Problems, which reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. In 2013 Ron's 4th album, A Little Unprofessional, also reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. Never one to rest on his laurels, Ron White partnered with Netflix to release his most recent effort- the highly successful comedy special, "If You'd Quit Listening, I'd Shut Up."

As an actor, Ron White has had supporting roles in the major theatrical films Horrible Bosses and Sex and the City 2. He also had a principal role in Jayne Mansfield's Car (written/directed by Billy Bob Thornton). He was a co-Executive Producer of Bridegroom, a Linda Bloodworth-Thomason documentary, which debuted at the 2013 NYC Tribeca Film Festival and won the Audience Award. In 2016, Ron White's acting talents were showcased alongside Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots, in music-industry veteran Cameron Crowe's Showtime series, Roadies. White played road-tested tour manager Phil in a critically praised performance.

Live performances on a comedy stage remain the life-blood of Ron White, and after all these years, the fans still can't get enough. White maintains a rigid touring schedule, and plays to sold out crowds all over the country night after night. The industry also continues to take notice; in 2021, Ron White was nominated as Pollstar's Comedy Touring Artist of the Decade.

Ron White was out of this world!

by Sharpie on 2012-02-01The Mahaffey - St Petersburg

Ron is the third of the blue collar comedy foursome, he is the best by far. Travelled a long distance to see him and it was well worth it. Will see him again if I get the opportunity.

    Ron White was fantastic

by jennikins69 on 2011-11-21Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Although the seating could have been better thought out, Ron White and his opener put on one heck of a show - my face still hurts from laughing. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would see him again in a second.

    Ron White never disappoints!

by FRANCIEPANTS on 2010-05-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Ron White is, without a doubt, one of the funniest comedians of this era. He is absolutely hilarious! His delivery and timing are impeccable. The content of his show was, overall, mostly original material with only a few repeat jokes. How can you not love this incredibly, talented man? I know I do! The opening act was also very funny! Well done!

    Tears of laughter

by WWFB on 2010-05-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I have watched many different videos and TV shows with Ron as a feature performer or as part of a group but nothing prepared me for his live show. I was surrounded by people who were literally in tears from laughter. He is truly an artist of his craft and I hope I have the pleasure of seeing him again on stage.

    Best Comedian I've seen...

by patsycline on 2010-05-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Ron White was a very engaging & talented performer. He's full of endless anecdotes & is respectful of the audience in that he picks on many populations & does not apologize. There were people who called out to him during the show, but he generally didn't respond as it would've interferred with the flow of his jokes. He also did not need to pick on one single audience member in order to get a laugh...he had plenty of stories. Very dramatic guy & full of expression. Would see him again in a heartbeat!

Hands down, far and away the funniest comedy show!

by DanielleV on 2010-05-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I've seen may comedy shows, and Ron White was in another league all together. At no point through the entire performance did I stop laughing. From his opening act, who was hilarious in himself, right up to the very last joke. If Ron White is doing a show in your town you MUST go see him. You will not be dissapointed. Thanks for the laughs Danielle
