If you had to attend just one event at Stampede…..this would be it - great venue - great crowd - great bands…especially Tom Cochrane and JD Fortune A - a little pricey but hey….its Stampede

I expected more from Pat Benatar (I actually left her set early) otherwise I enjoyed myself.

  • VIP Was Pretty Good

by ABGirl on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

This year I went for the VIP tickets for the first time. The seating provided and total experience was not what I expected - it was scant up closer to the stage/screens. The covered areas were great as was the bar service and outhouse proximity. I found that the General Admission has a better proximity and direct view of the stage. The stage was difficult to see and I found that I was looking more at the screens than the actual band on the stage. That was disappointing. The performers were performing more to the General Admission folks as it was more of a straight on angle for them. As a result, the VIP section felt like it was just a viewing area out of the range of the stage. That was quite disappointing. Even up close to the front of the VIP area, it was quite far from the stage and performers. I don't think I would pay the extra to buy VIP tickets again. As for the band line up - very enjoyable. Tom and Pat were great. The Roundup mostly always gets great bands.

  • Fun event

by MD on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Love the venue and festival … only 2 things to comment on 1 automatic 18% gratuities on drinks. Excessive when your drink is $12 . Plus the bartenders turn around the screen asking for additional tips without advising that the 18% was already included in the price…it wasn’t until I questioned the total amount that I was advised Of the 18% gratuity … everyone in my party experienced the same thing. 2. Pat. Benatars sound was awful and very hard to hear .. everything sounded muffled… didn’t have the same issue with any previous bands. Thank you MD

  • My first Roundup Fest

by Ian on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

JD Fortune was amazing. I thought he did a great job covering all the INXS songs on his set list, His band was very good too. Love the interaction with the crowd. Tom Cochrane and bad were stellar. I've seen Tom as a solo artist or with Red Rider six or seven times and have yet to be disappointed. Wonderful mixture of all his songs. White Hot, Victory Day and Boy Inside The Man were my highlights Pat Benatar was terrific. Her voice is still amazing and when she hit the high notes on certain songs, it was mind-blowing. Neil is a first rate guitar player. Great set list, but would have loved to hear "We Live For Love".

  • Amazing show

Tom Cochrane was amazing. In fact they were all amazing. Loved to see Pat Benatar and her husband. Just an all around fantastic evening.

  • Amazing Event

by Sher on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was our first time attending the festival and I loved each of the artist. They did not disappoint at all. We had a great time singing and dancing the whole night. If I had any complaints it would be that we couldn’t bring lawn chairs. This 50+ momma ain’t built for standing for that many hours.

  • JD Fortune and Tom Cochrane stole the show

    by B-Rock on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Both JD Fortune and Tom Cochrane were definitely the highlights. Both sounded incredible and looked like they were having a blast on stage. I'm not a big fan of J.J. Wilde's music but she at least sounded good. Pat Benatar was by far the weak point of the evening. Her guitar player/hubby Neil Giraldo looked uninterested and sounded sloppy. They were so disappointing that I, along with many other people ended up leaving early.

  • Generations Unite

    by Stickman_41 on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

A fantastic event to attend in Calgary. From new super talent JJ Wilde, rocking the start up, ( unfortunately not well attended) JD Fortune, bringing me back to the great 80’s with all the awesome INXS vibes, Tom Cochrane keeping me there, with his amazing energy and band, and finishing with Pat Benetar, who proved she can still rock the park! Great venue, well organized, never over crowded and lots of food and drink and games strewn about. Well done organizers!

  • It was fun! But…

by MissJ on 2025-07-12Prince's Island Park - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was great, the bands were great! The added tip at the bar without being told was an ABSOLUTE ripoff!!! There should be signs saying there is an automatic gratuity and it should only be 10%!!! Also the beer gardens were moved to the other side and were behind a tent so you could not see the stage!!! We bought our tickets based on the location of the beer gardens last year and on the map it looked like they were in the same spot!!! Not great communication on this! Still had a great time though!!!
