About

Russell Peters was recently named as one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Comics of All Time. He started doing stand-up at the age of nineteen at open mics in his native Toronto, and spent the next fifteen years honing his craft at clubs across Canada and the UK. In 2004, Peters gained critical and global recognition for his CTV "Comedy Now!" special and soon became the first comedian to sell-out Toronto's Air Canada Centre in 2007. Peters went on to set attendance records at venues from Madison Square Garden to The Sydney Opera House to London's O2 Arena - where he broke the UK attendance record for highest number of tickets sold for an individual comedy show.

His subsequent tours were captured in his successful specials broadcast on Showtime and Comedy Central: Outsourced in 2006; Red, White and Brown in 2008; and, The Green Card Tour in 2010. In 2013, Peters became the first comedian to create a Netflix Original Comedy Special. His Deported World Tour was seen by over 400,000 fans in 40 cities across 20 countries and culminated in the stand-up special, Russell Peters Deported, on Amazon Prime in January 2020. Peters is currently on the road with his Act Your Age World Tour.

Peters has been awarded Gemini, Peabody, Emmy and Canadian Screen Awards for his hosting, producing and acting talents. His last TV series, The Indian Detective, set a Canadian viewership record for Bell Media /CTV in 2017 and was released globally on Netflix.

Peters resides in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. When not on tour he spends every day with his daughter, Crystianna and son, Russell Santiago. He has a blue belt with three stripes in Jiu Jitsu and is an ardent DJ and hip-hop junkie who tries to get on the turntables for at least a few minutes every day.

    Short but sweet

by Nathan on 2024-12-11Molson Canadian Centre at Casino New/Nouveau Brunswick - Moncton

We had a great night out seeing Russel Peters, he managed to be even funnier than I had anticipated and I mean that in a good way, the interactions with the front row crowd were hilarious. Unfortunately it felt a little too short, he only had one opener, roughly a 20 minute set, and then Russel came out, I didn't keep track of his time but it was roughly 1 hour, not too bad but it ended very abruptly. In the end I think it was worth the money in terms of laughs/dollar value but I do wish the event offered a bit more in terms of length. For reference when we saw Theo Von he had 3 openers, and his set was an hour and a half long.

    Bad parking

by Syl on 2024-12-10The Arena at TD Place - Ottawa

The show was awesome but the parking at that event was horrible...there was no parking and we arrived very early plus we had to walk about 20 minutes with a handicapped person cause Bank Street was all blocked so we couldn't drive down the street ....but he was terrific

    Comedy at its best?

by Tammy on 2024-12-10The Arena at TD Place - Ottawa

The first 2 comedians were a blast I laughed so hard I cried. Russel Peter's was really good at the beginning roasting the audience but in the middle and end it slowed down. He was still good just nit as funny as back in the day. Maybe stick to roasting the audience and bring back some of his old jokes. All in all worth the money though.

by Edsmom on 2024-12-10Centre Bell - Montreal

Maybe my expectations were high, it was good but I was expecting more. I was expecting 2 sets with a pause to go grab another drink, parking was tricky missed a big part of the first act

    G.O.A.T. COMEDIAN!!!

by YvetteGee on 2024-12-09Centre Bell - Montreal

If laughter is the best medicine, then Russell Peters just cured my entire existence. This man is not a comedian; he’s a comedic surgeon, dissecting cultures, stereotypes, and human behavior with precision so sharp, I’m still laughing in my sleep. Russell Peters is not just a comedian; he’s a comedic genius. If you haven’t seen his show yet, drop everything and buy a ticket. You’ll leave with memories, sore cheeks, and a newfound appreciation for how gloriously funny humanity can be. Thank you, Russell, for being so awesome at what you do and sharing it with the world!

    Amazing

by Ramona on 2024-12-09Centre Bell - Montreal

I think it was really great, very funny and well written... However I didnt think it was fair that we couldn't take pictures... I understand videos but the security wouldn't let people even use their phones to text or be on them at all... Everyone pays so much and can't even have proof we were there for our future selves... Also wish it was longer it didn't last as long like jo koy did but overall amazing experience

We,went to see Russell Peters recently

by Raging Bull on 2024-12-09Centre Bell - Montreal

I brought my wife to see Russell Peters for the first time. It was a few days ago , when we arrived at the arena were told to see an agent who said new seats were available for us. Those seats were much lower and we were facing the stage. The opening acts were good. However, we really enjoyed seeing Mr.Peters so funny and it was a enjoyable experience. Overall it was a great night out. Thank-you and I have another concert booked for next year.
