Get organized people!!!!
by sarahlover on 2010-06-28McMahon Stadium - CalgaryOrganization was a mess at Lilith Fair!! The music was great and the weather beautiful, but there was little to be said for communication with attendees. The tickets said it began at 2:30, but the program didn't really start until 5:30. There was no indidcation of end time or when the singers would be on stage until you got your ticket inside. With the multitudes of communication available today, this was unacceptable. Lines, lines and more lines awaited us from arrival until departure. The line up to get bags searched was over an hour just to get in. The signs saying you couldn't have food, more than one bottle of water or cameras took us by surprise and I even went ALL THE WAY BACK to my car to drop stuff off, only to discover the search process was a joke and I could have taken in my lunch and water. Food and drink line ups were outrageous and water cost $3.75. That should be illegal. Because I had dropped off my water earlier, I had to stand in line for over 1.5 hours just to get the basic necessity. All the while, Sheryl Crow sung her heart out. The set up was terrible and communication the pits. Thank God the singing was fabulous...it's the only thing that will save the show. I attended Lilith 10years ago in Calgary and it was truly a "celebration" of women. Last night, none of the groups even sang together....that was a real shame. To sum it up, you may want to assess whether you'd like to pay $150/ticket to stand in line ups all day. I know I wouldn't do it again.
