About

When Sarah Millican was a bairn, she wouldn't say boo to a goose. Quiet at school, not many friends, no boobs til she was 16. Now? NOW she is loud, with good friends, a cracking rack and goose booing all over the shop. In Late Bloomer, Sarah's brand-new stand-up show, she explores how one became the other. Plus, lots of stuff about dinners and lady gardens.

Sarah is one the UK's and, in recent years, the world's most well-loved touring comedians. A hard-working live performer Sarah has toured with six live shows since 2010, which in total, have been seen by over 1.3 million people.

Away from her live work Sarah is known for hosting three series of her critically acclaimed BBC2 series The Sarah Millican Television Programme, for which she received two BAFTA nominations.

Sarah is a Sunday Times bestselling author with her debut book, How To Be Champion, and in 2016 founded the Standard Issue podcast - a smart, funny magazine-style show made for women by women.

  • Not too great

by Unimpressed on 2022-11-01Vancouver Playhouse - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I was disappointed TBH I didn't know that there was a warm up act who left me cold. After being asked if we were 'drinking tonight' to cheers from those who were (we were not, regrettably) the show was mediocre at best. Yelling questions to boring audience members about their most exciting Covid Experience. Sorry just wasn't funny.

  • Genuine and hilarious

Sarah is a treat, a genuine warm human that takes her life experiences and tells you stories about them in a way that makes you laugh from deep in your belly.

  • Irreverent

by Stewart on 2022-11-01Vancouver Playhouse - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The warm up act was very good, and relatively clean. Sarah Millican was her normal irreverent self, but that is why people go to see her. However the use of the f word could have been reduced by 50% at least. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

  • such a fun show.

Opening act Sally was funny with her local UK humour. Great warm up act for Sarah. Loved Sarahs humour, she included the audience and was hilarious.

Sarah was warm, witty and her banter with the audience was terrific. Her opening act Sally-Anne, was very funny too. A great show

Saw Sarah on TV, knew we would be in for a great evening. Laughed the whole show - and related to so many of her observations. Great time had by all - standing ovation!

Sarah was wonderful, seat was great however I had a difficult time hearing her and I was on the floor 6 rows back from the stage.

She did not disappoint us…what a FABULOUS Show! Could not stop laughing. Thanks for coming to Canada 🇨🇦

  • She was a Bobby Dazzler!

by Mykidsmom on 2022-10-26National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great venue - as intimate as 900 people can be - Sarah did not disappoint - having watched snippets of previous routines, I worried they were the highlights and trailers - with a bunch of MEH in between…. But that is not the case at all. Her interactions with the audience made it even more amazing, her impromptu humour is fantastic! It’s no wonder everything has been a sell out!

  • Absolutely hilarious!

I laughed so much I'm still sore three days later. Great opener (Sally Ann), fabulous main act (Sarah). So pleased to have a chance to see excellent British comedy live in Ottawa. I hope we get to have more of their top acts here. I had seen Sarah on many TV programs, including QI, and attended some of her pandemic online showcases for young performers, a great thing to do for others. She didn't disappoint in person!

  • 3 days later, still have sore jaws from laughing so hard!

Timing was perfect post pandemic to go out on the town. This night was a gift for my sister's birthday and I may have benefited the most:) I had never heard of Sarah Millican before but now I can't stop talking about her. Thank you so much for bringing the stage back to life, have an incredible tour.

  • Sarah Millican “Bobby Dazzler”, at the N. A. C., Ottawa.

by Jim Eh on 2022-10-26National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

An excellent stand up comedy show by two ladies without pretence! Sarah Millican presents the foibles of the life of a modern woman, viewed from slightly off center; which makes one think while (and after) laughing.

  • Spectacular entertainer and awesome venue!

by DekeZ on 2022-10-26National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing performances by Ms. Millican and her support/opener. Sound quality amazing, seating amazing, comfort amazing, friendly and helpful staff and volunteers, so many unique seating areas while waiting for the doors to open. Just simply a wonderful experience all the way around!

First time seeing this stand up comedian and was worth it! She had the audience laughing from beginning to the end of the show. My face hurt as I laughed so much. I will definitely try seeing her again if she comes back to Ottawa! Loads of laughs.

Great show. A afternoon of laughs. I was prepared for Sarah’s humour as I’ve watched many of her videos. Great seeing her in person and would go again.

  • Amazingly funny

by Sonia on 2022-10-26National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah started her show on time, and made us belly laugh right from the first minute. She includes the audience bringing in a personal touch to the show making you feel included. The length of the shiw was good. We had an opening act that was good but Sarah is the star. Had a fantastic night!

  • Hilarious

  • Sarah's show was hilarious from start to finish.

Hilarious show, she is a seasoned comedian whose jokes are relatable. The time passed so quickly, i wish it could have been longer. It was so much fun to attend and i can hardly wait until the next time I get to see her.
